    Cheating

The only 'ethical cheating' situations I've heard of are the old poker stories where everyone(!) agreed ahead of time(!) that cheating was allowed, unless you got caught. As I recall the winner of this story was the guy who won more the more he drank. The lids of the little liquor bottles were...

Need help with Card sleight- the reverse

As above, turn the pack face up (palm down) and slide the card over, it is now face up, level with the floor. With your right hand pick up the rest of the pack and start to flip it over (left to right) face down onto that card. As you do so, curl your left fingers to raise the single card and...

Need help with Card sleight- the reverse

Make sure you are starting with the deck face down in your palm up right hand and then turn your hand over so the deck is face up. Here the top card is on the bottom, that is the top card referenced in the instructions in step 2. That covers the initial position, let us know what part you are...

    Mnemonica help

Which app did you get? I like Ultimate Stack Trainer for the initial phase of learning it and then Mem Deck Pro for getting better from there and focusing on the specific items that have trouble with. Beyond that I use the months of repetition method. Dave

    What wax do you like?

I'm looking for some magician's wax. I'd like something somewhat soft, but not too soft. For mostly cards, some IT experimentation and general playing around. What do you use? Dave

MAGIC REVIEW: "Ninja Plus" by Matthew Garrett

If you are referring to the finger ring, yes. What you get in the Plus is actually IDENTICAL to what you get in the standard linking ring set except for the size and shape of the rings (i.e. linking vs finger ring size and shape). But otherwise ring for ring there is a direct correspondence...

MAGIC REVIEW: "Ninja Plus" by Matthew Garrett

I bought these VERY recently. I did get the black ones and will report back on their durability after I have banged on them for a while. The Plus was simply attractive to me to suit my own routining. I do a ring on rubber band which I thought would lead into the Plus and then the straight...

MAGIC REVIEW: "Ninja Plus" by Matthew Garrett

I did indeed get them as above from Penguin. I guess I did not get "all the DVDs" as I claimed as I did not order the last one David listed (extreme Ninja+ @$25). I got: The set of 4 Close Up Linking Rings w/DVD for $71 and Ninja+ Deluxe (finger ring effect w/2 linking rings)...

MAGIC REVIEW: "Ninja Plus" by Matthew Garrett

I just got both sets of rings with all the DVDs for under $200. The bundle pricing structure can be a bit confusing and it is still pricey, but if it's too much you can get just his Matthew Garrett linking rings (though I do wish these came with a 5th ring). It's the Ninja+ (finger ring...

    Card Gimmick

Yes, as above I recommend Justin's suggestion to get the Blake Vogt video. It has very helpful information not contained in older sources. You'll likely end up getting vol. 2 also, which is very good too. It tells you how to put the cards back together after you have split them apart.

A young desperate Magician needs help

At least Snap Deal is referenced in the description. It doesn't actually say it's taught, but I imagine it is part of the referenced "Dealing Effects". Perhaps someone here knows for sure.

You can also learn the Snap Deal from the "Lennart Green Live" lecture. Though I only have Master File, Snap Deal is listed as being on "Lennart Green Live".

When should I buy a new deck ?

I think Bees and the Theory 11 premium decks are pretty flexible, if that is what helps reduce strain for you. It depends what you are doing. I find the low friction on decks with a smooth finish also produces less strain on some sleights. Frankly any higher quality deck will have overall...

When should I buy a new deck ?

This. Some people like Bikes and never want anything else, but you won't know until you try. I find the deck makes a big difference for the kind of things I do. Especially if you are having trouble with a particular sleight, a new or different brand deck can make all the difference...
