    Memorized deck GODS!

Working with a memorized deck isn´t hard (the hard part is the sleight-of-hand necessary to make it work for some effects). You don´t need memory skills for that. You learn it once and use it forever. Memorizing and memorized deck work are two totally different things. Although there´re tricks...

    Classic Pass! >:O

Or take a look at the description of the two-handed shift in EATCT. A quote by Richard Kaufman and that`s coming from one of the busiest author of magic books.

    Are spectators just stupid?

You don`t need to tell big stories. Give your magic a meaning and a structure that makes sense. Just doing effects is not doing magic IMO. It´s showing your (technical) skills to look good in front of others. It´s like bread without butter, like a Hitchcock movie that starts with the climax...

The Double Lift by Jason England

I agree Mr. England is a fantastic card handler and instructor. It`s just that it would be better IMO if you could compile your own collection of Mr. Englands videos (they´re different priced, but there are solutions for that problem) and get 30% for such a collection. Flexibility is always better.

    DVD On Presentation & Showmanship

I second the book recommendations. Darwin Ortiz has a new DVD-set , 'Nothing but the best'. Every DVD has a theory section at the end which covers The Magical Experience, The Audience is Not the Enemy, Meaning, Conviction and Conditions, Causality, The Critical Interval, The In-Transit Action...

Kids copying me and messing up my tricks.

I agree with everyone here. Some good books you should have a look at are: - Tarbell Course in Magic - Any book by John Bannon, James Swain, Stephen Minch, Juan Tamariz and Harry Lorayne. Something that isn´t exposed @youtube much (except the Bannon stuff maybe) but most of it is strong...

    My Two Ton Triumph.

Very nice and smooth handling. I´m currently reading 'Miracles with cards' by James Swain which features the TTT and a Triumph revelation in the first phase of his 'The Airmail Card'.

    David Blaine is a Dad!

I don´t know why, but I first read: 'David Blaine is dead!' and thought he came up with a new trick that involves to be buried alive . Oh no wait. He already did this ;)

Was The Magic Cafe Right For Banning Me?

The magic café is a two-class society. I witnessed that more than once. Before I go on I want to make clear that there´re people in the café I highly respect and they´re great and helpful people. I remember a thread where a cafe member reviewed a book of one of 'the forum heros' in the most...

    Who created it?

I don´t know for sure, but I couldn´t find any credits either. http://archive.denisbehr.de/archive/resultbook.php?book=190&edit= The Uncanny Penetrating Rubber Bands aka CMH, creator unknown.

Shaky Hands & Falling Cards. Beating Anxiety

I think that´s a very helpful essay and something everyone is (or was) confronted with. Thank you, very good tips. Your essays are a very good read. You should put them together in a pdf file. The worst thing ever happened to me was a full mental block, caused by a 'What if..' scenario. I...

    Fool Us. should we?

I totally agree. That´s the reason I don´t like Slydini. He often challenged the spectator/assistant to find out how something worked, and sometimes he made somebody even look like a fool. Watch his video where he does the Helicopter Card. You can see and feel how uncomfortable the spectator...

Was The Magic Cafe Right For Banning Me?

He can use a proxy server to overcome that problem. But why? As much as I like the quality of the posts in that forum, I don´t like the administration. They are a bunch of %"§&", sorry. It´s not worth it. And no, I was never banned from that site but I have some experience with their politics...

How many copies does a magic book sell?

A book should have a solid foundation. Some people think they´re some years in the magic business and that ensures they have the competence to write a book. That´s silly. Most of the well-known authors of magic books (Minch, Kaufmann just to name two) spent YEARS just for the research of ONE...

Yes and even the box looks great and sophisticated. And you´ll also get some decks and stuff. A set for connoisseurs :)

How many copies does a magic book sell?

Not that many. Magic DVDs outsell Magic books by far and away. I think that´s the reason most magicians today prefer producing DVDs.

    Lennart Green

Wikipedia: That´s a classic ^^ I agree with Daniel Montage. Although he´s is my top 5 list of my favorite magicians, his style(really unique), moves (some of them are really advanced stuff) and effects are not my cup of tea. I love watching him, that´s for sure. With the exception of 'Eye of...

Ben Earl on Penn and Teller's "Fool Us"

It was a demonstration of skill rather than giving me that magic feeling. Seeing Bill Malone dong his Scarne Aces was more magical, because he didn´t represent it that way. In Earl´s presentation the looking for the positions of the cards alone demystified the whole effect and set it up as a...
