It requires a special type of Sharpie to make it work. If you shuffle the cards the exact same way and pick the two cards just as he did, it works every time if you have the right kind of Sharpie.;) But seriously, Jason isn't being serious. You've been had. :eek:

I'd recommend a book called Scarne on Card Tricks. The effects are great and they don't require any sleight of hand.

You want to get Tear Down by Andrew Mayne which is a variation on Jim Steinmeyer's Incessant Newspaper. That is easily the best of the best.

How was what you saw different than the standard versions other then the deck being face up rather than face down?

The key to learning is asking a question. Teaching is telling people what you think they need to know. Learning is finding out the answer to what you want to know. A good teacher instills curiosity and makes you want to ask question and seek answers. Think about how that applies to you life...

Agree. If a full deck is in the box, it really shouldn't matter how it is stored. That said, all of my decks are vertical with their short sides down -- because that is the way they best fit into the boxes that I keep them in. Not to derail the thread... but I expect I've done worse. :eek:

One additional thought --- it is worth getting "magician's rope" from a magic shop. It is easier to work with than rope you get from a store.
