    Liam Walsh & Dynamo?

Dynamo uses loops, I know this for a fact as he showed me his hook up at a convention in 2008. He doesn't do it in the way people usual do it though. His ends clean and you actually get the effect of the card leaping out of the deck. You can even do it in a spectators hands. You can find an...

Tricks that your audience remember ....

Can't say I am familiar with that move. Do you have a source for it? As I am intrigued. I would say though, that whilst the switching of the colours is totally illogical, I have never had it questioned. I usually fob it of with some dumb excuse about trying to prevent the spectator showing...

Tricks that your audience remember ....

Just did a quick google search and found this in the US. http://www.magicstor.com/DVDs/DVDs-/1-Deck-14-Tricks-24-Hours-Volume-2-by-Matthew-J-Dowden-DVD/prod_1244.html Seemed there were a bunch of other places selling it as well. I highly recommend getting both these DVDs for great...

Tricks that your audience remember ....

I do this version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTKThlZ97jQ Plays out exactly the same as the original really. Using half the deck is good as it stops the trick being to long, but you can do this version with the whole deck (obviously). I knew the original before this version but had never...

Tricks that your audience remember ....

I would also like to add that I totally agree with this. I more often than not refuse to perform, so when I finally do, people are really eager and therefore way more likely to enjoy it and act like good spectators. That way they know I am in charge and if the fool around/try to mess up what I'm...

Tricks that your audience remember ....

I have similar thing. I did a trick where the spectators chosen card appeared in my shoe. As the rumor spread, everyone now remembers it as the card appearing in the spectators shoe!. I haven't done that trick since, as anything I could actually do would be way less impressive than the legend...

    Muscle pass applications

A guy who worked for Marvin's Magic in Hamelys in London once showed me a great coin through glass type thing using the muscle pass where you swear you see the coin jump though the glass. Don't know where you can learn it, but might give you some ideas. Rev

    New USPCC Plant and Cards

I think there is such a thing as caring just a little TOO much about what you cards feel like... Cards are cards as far as I'm concerned... as long as they aren't plastic coated I'm happy with them.. Rev

    Card Change

I'm certain I read the exact thing you're describing in Jean Hugards 'Card Manipulations' book about 10 years ago. I certainly remember trying it and it not working...., but then again, i was only 14 at the time... So try that book, even if it's not in there then there is tonnes of other cool...

    Gimmicks are WRONG?

How young is your mother!?!? And i never said i was insulted, just calling people a retard and putting down the achievements of those who compete in the special olympics all at once is really low. Rev

I agree with everything you've said in this thread, but that's just not cool dude. Rev

How do you create a card trick?

I think you have to decide whether you are coming up with a new METHOD or a new EFFECT. People put to much emphasis on not using already existing ideas/moves these days, going so far as assuming they if they use an Elmsley Count or Marlo Tilt then the trick they have come up with is not...

    Gimmicks are WRONG?

I think this is spot on. Gimmicked 'normal' items will always be less suspicious than a normal silk or metal ring or silver cup. Seriously, when is it normal for a man to own that many colourful silk handkerchiefs!!! Rev

    Simplicity

So you need visual sleight of hand to demonstrate you are the 'card guy, yet the audience isn't supposed to see it.... now that doesn't really make sense does it? You essentially said it should be visible and invisible at once. Also, surely the best card guys make their sleights invisible...

    Simplicity

I have a real soft spot for tricks that use very minimal sleight of hand and are just downright cheeky. An example you may all know is 'Extraordinary Proof' from True Astonishments. It's so cheeky yet I've never been caught out when performing it. i like stuff like that. I also believe that...

    Your Dream

I want to be a school teacher. That way I can have a real impact on people, and will feel happy knowing I have shaped someone's future. Not Magic related, but It's true. Rev

    Jokers?

I tend to leave them in, but remove them right at the start of doing tricks. That way, they don't get in the way (if someone ends up choosing them they always think it's suspicious for some reason) but they are to hand if i need them. Rev

    Rene Lavand

Saw him live end of last year. Absolutely brilliant. And he was nice enough to sign a card for me.
