I think you have to decide whether you are coming up with a new METHOD or a new EFFECT. People put to much emphasis on not using already existing ideas/moves these days, going so far as assuming they if they use an Elmsley Count or Marlo Tilt then the trick they have come up with is not...

So you need visual sleight of hand to demonstrate you are the 'card guy, yet the audience isn't supposed to see it.... now that doesn't really make sense does it? You essentially said it should be visible and invisible at once. Also, surely the best card guys make their sleights invisible...

I tend to leave them in, but remove them right at the start of doing tricks. That way, they don't get in the way (if someone ends up choosing them they always think it's suspicious for some reason) but they are to hand if i need them. Rev
