    Magic Collecting

I collect decks of cards and books. And when I say collect cards, it's not like the card collections you see on youtube where that have 17 packs of blue bikes, one tiger deck, five decks of ghosts etc. I just buy one deck of any cards i find, not just uspcc stuff. Then they go in a cool case i...

    The Cannabis Transpo

That was actually quite good. The way you show both cards at the end was very clever. Don't think I would have thought of that.

    Magic History

There are loads out there. Do a search on amazon or something like that. I can personally recommend 'Hiding The Elephant' by Jim Steinmeyer. A great read that covers the golden era of illusion. There is also quite a bit of history stuff in David Blaine's book.

    Close Up Talent Show

20 to 40 people are going to be quite spread out, so think more parlour/small cabaret than close up table stuff. Ring on string, or any rope stuff would be good. Professors nightmare, cut and restored etc. Cups and Balls or Chop cup? If you do some card tricks, do stuff like card to...

Hmmm, bit clumsy in my opinion. There seemed to be a lot of excessive handling. Still, the idea is fairly good and at least you didn't feel the need to chuck a load of pointless flourishes in!! On a positive note, I like the idea of the snap change between the two cards, and if I'm honest, when...

    Pitching Svengalis

Dynamic Coins and D'lites also sell very well. I worked in the Marvins Magic section of Hamleys in London for a very short while. Mostly doing D'Lite demos. Me and this other guy managed to sell about 80 pairs at £15 each in an hour on a good day! Rev

    Jerry's Nugget Cards

They don't. Only guys who want to look cool or a trying to sell them to you use them. The cards you use don't make a difference. Rev

    Your "arsenal" for a party...

Deck of cards and a couple of duplicates for card to shoe/ transpos etc. I pretty much only do cards anyway. To be honest, I more often than not refuse to perform if people ask me (which is nearly every party/dinner I go to). I'm not a performing monkey, I want people to appreciate what I do...

BEST Self Working Card Trick with No Setup / Gimmicks

Ok, yeah. I'll give you that, it's not the original. I more mentioned the original for reference (everyone should try the original at least once) and it does require a set up. I prefer this version though. The fact that it doesn't use the whole deck means it's less tedious (I think) than the...

BEST Self Working Card Trick with No Setup / Gimmicks

I knew someone would call me up on this, and it's simply not true. The version I use can start with the spectator shuffling the deck. And no sleights are needed at all. You 'set up' the deck right in front of the spectator when doing the trick! And the action seems completely normal. I learnt...

The Last Trick That Completely Floored You

Last trick that completely fooled me was this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et2sKXlkOkU Totally blew my mind! Rev

I cant make up my mind!

Oh yeah, and listen to this guy, he speaks the truth! RRTCM and ECT can both be bought together for less than any of the one trick DVD's available here on T11 so you may as well get them all!! that's a lot of material to keep you busy! Rev

I cant make up my mind!

If you've only been doing magic that long then there is NO WAY you everything in RRTCM will be too 'newb' (what a dumb word...) to you! I've been doing magic since I was eight years old, I'm twenty-five now and still use tricks i learnt in RRTCM!! People need to realise that just cos they've...

BEST Self Working Card Trick with No Setup / Gimmicks

Out Of This World. Absolutely one of the most powerful things you can do with a borrowed deck. No setup, no gimmicks and even no sleights! It's in a load of magic books and there are various versions of it (although they all essentially rely on the same principal). The original though is Paul...

    Derren Brown meets Richard Dawkins

Two of the cleverest and most switched on individuals in the world today. I have massive respect for both these guys. To anyone who hasn't read it, pick up a copy of Mr Dawkins book 'The God Delusion'. A fantastic read if your interested in that sort of thing. Rev

    Other Jobs of Magicians

Hmmm, very good point, and your probably right. Makes more sense than what I suggested!! At the end of the day though, I suppose were all drawn to it for different reasons. I know i enjoy it for the ingenuity of the whole thing. I'm also very drawn in by the history of it. Magic history is...

    Other Jobs of Magicians

May be that's why he does it. I work as an accountant, which is very procedural and not creative at all. Therefore magic is an outlet for that creativity. I have found that a lot of people who work in/study science do magic (I myself have Biology degree) cause it's almost the polar opposite...
