I partly agree with Amber. A gambling demonstration typically speaks for itself but it can also be wrapped in a story of a magician versus the gambler, or play it off as you witnessing a feat that a known cheat accomplished. This effect doesn't seem to fit the former narrative though...perhaps...

I bought this deck years ago when I first got into magic, but the shop that sold it to me gave me an open deck that doesn't fan well at all. Is there something I do to the cards that will make them fan better? Thanks in advance!

I've only ever bought one thing from him(Postal code), and I think it's a good trick. Binary code is good, and practical. Re-cord was simple to figure out, and impractical to perform in my opinion. I don't know much besides that.
