    Would You Pay For This?

Actually, I was able to rewatch the video on a computer (rather than a phone). Part of the method doesn't seem to be what I had though. I'll PM you my thoughts on what the method is. If it is what I think, it is a good idea but my sense still is that it isn't that substantial of an...

    Books

I'd recommend books 2 though 5. Having the full set is amazing to go though, but also is an amazing reference if you are reading another book and it lists a move you've never heard of. If you want some fun stuff, check out books by John Bannon's High Calliber or John Gustaferro's One Degree...

    Books

Are you talking sleight of hand regarding cards or regarding other objects. Also, you say "intermediate" - what have you been learning from and what can you do? Also, list your five favorite effects to perform -- that will give a sense of what you like.

    Would You Pay For This?

Honestly, nothing. The method is obvious and would be obvious to anyone who knows any torn and restored card routine and Wayne Houchin's French Kiss. A better handling would be to have the spectator tear the card and use a billet switch or a card loading technique using the torn halves to...

    Beginning Card Tricks

I really HATE that label (nothing against you @Timewise64, just whoever coined that phrase). First, it suggests that the magician has nothing to do with the magic. Nothing could be further than the truth. Magic that doesn't involve sleight of hand involves just as much in presentation as any...

I'm stumped! Is this a trick box?

What made you think that? Could it be the tiresome focus on the props? The lack of anything else to focus on? Read Mark Wilson's Comlete Course in Magic. Especially the pages 375 to 400.

What do You Say when Someone asks "How do you do that?"

The question usually indicates that the magic was presented as a challenge - "I know a secret and you don't." That method of performing places the magician "above" the spectator because they are in the know. Spectator's don't like being in that position. The answers you are listing make...

    Would anybody pay for this?

As @Rev said, the general method you are using is the same as the methods used by Benard Bills and John Carney. I'd have to pull the books to see how close the handling is. Kudos to you for coming up with that handling and performing it well To answer your original question, I don't think...

    Quick Question

If you are looking to use YOUR body language to enhance your magic, get Juan Tamariz's The Five Points in Magic. If you are looking to figure out other people's body language, get the first book by Navarro. The other two books look like simplistic self-help books that try too hard. If you are...

How Has Magic Changed Over Time Through The Use Of Film & TV?

Is that one topic about how magic in the use of film has changed or two separate topics about how magic has changed and a separate unrelated topic of magic in film?

    Pass Opinion

The original purpose of the pass is to reverse a cut. To use it as a control or color change is like using a shotgun to swat a fly. It works, but it isn't the best method. Yeah, that. I suspect that younger magicians practice the pass so much, they need to come up for uses for it. A...

    Small hands card tricks...

Christopher's answer was the most helpful in the entire thread relating to card magic and to life. My favorite quote in life is from Richard Bach's book Illusions: "Argue your limitations and sure enough, they are yours."

what gimmicks are worth the money?

Don't focus on the gimmick or the method. Focus on the effect - that is what the spectator sees. If you like the effect than research the different methods for attaining the effect - do they work for how you perform (sitting, standing, walking around, surrounded, parlor, stage, etc.), are they...

    Pass Opinion

Other than showing people your pass, what do you use it for? It is hard to judge the quality of a pass outiside of a routine that used the pass because the upward tilting motion of your hands indicates that something has happened.

What are your go-to card routines?

    Get started in magic

Don't waste your money on specialty decks, get a 12 pack of Bicycle decks from Costco or Sams. Also, don't waste your time learning a lot of color changes. Better to learn a bunch of different effects. For a good list, look here...
