Good Reads for the Proficient Performer?

Thanks for the many additions David. I'll probably put them on one big combined updated list and post it as a sticky or something.

    My Performance of Asher Twist

Toby...I'll shoot video of it when I am back in my hometown with him. I'm in Maryland right now on vacation and will post it for you or send you a link.

Good Reads for the Proficient Performer?

Thank you Bizarro...I haven't heard of either one. I'll have to check them out.

Good Reads for the Proficient Performer?

That list is the best I've seen when everyone compiled it. The last book I read was called "Born Standing Up" by Steve Martin which is actually a good quick read.

    my magic collection $$

Cmelo, View that collection as you would a set of tools in a workshop. Or view that collection as food items spread upon a table before a chef. What will you choose to do with your tools?

    My Performance of Asher Twist

Ive found that the Asher Twist is almost impossible to stroll with if people are seated because then you have to hold the cards even lower or kneel down by the tables. Now...if everyone is standing and you hold the cards at waist height...all is okay. Ed Ellis and I had a nice Asher Twist...

Wow Our Community Here Has Gotten Harsh...

I understand everyone's view points and actually agree with many of them. I myself can sound like a "know it all" and I need to try and become a bit more positive at times, but I'm usually going to call it like it is. I will not sugar coat a mediocre youtube performance and tell someone it is...

    Erdanase: Bible Edition

When it comes to books like these I tend to go for the cheaper version if the content is all strictly the same. If one version has nicer illustrations or an easier font to read sometimes that can be a deciding factor as well. If a used book has highlighted paragraphs or underlined...

    My Performance of Asher Twist

Looks awesome...you definitely do it nicely. The camera angle or spectator's view is definitely an important factor in play with the Asher Twist.

    4th of July Magic

Nope...this is only for Americans. Ha Ha. I'm totally kidding. By all means do some magic tomorrow and film it. I'd love to see real life performance videos with actual spectators....not all of these you tube videos without spectators and real life situations.

    impromptu two card transpo

The sequence starting at 20 seconds to show the card looks really "unfair" so to speak because you are bringing both halves of the deck back together again. It may be me being picky but there are many easier ways to do what you are doing without it looking fishy.

    4th of July Magic

Tomorrow most Americans will be celebrating 4th of July, our nation's Independence Day. A lot of us will be with family and friends grilling out, swimming, and probably watching fireworks or letting them off. I'd love to see some performance videos from some of our members. Tomorrow would be a...

Teller & Derren Brown Join EMC 2012

For those of you who are still contemplating on on joining EMC conference...it is well worth it. Sure you can watch it live, or you can watch it any darn time you please and still get the DVD set in the mail afterwards. The amount of knowledge you are getting is hard to put a price on.

My performance of three fly by eric jones.

Please work on your enunciation. You are mumbling and difficult to understand. If you are doing this for spectators they will not comprehend anything you are saying. Keep working on the routine to get it down a bit more smoothly as well.

Talk about fast shipping... (Hint: Sarcasm)

Paper, Ease up buddy. I'm sure Lyle or customer support will get back to you now that you have "voiced" your shipping issue. I understand your frustration with paying more and it still taking awhile. I'm confident that support will take care of you.

    New card force originality

I'd refilm it and keep your hands more centralized in the shot so we can see what is going on. The blurring of the cam ruins it as well as the handling of the cards after the hand to hand spread. It doesn't seem "fair" for 2 reasons. Why would you stop at 19 when clearly the person wants 21...

    Street Smarts

William, I want to personally thank you for sharing the plethora of knowledge with the forums. That is outstanding what you've done thus far and the amount of tips / tricks that you are picking up is super. I have never busked before, but man, if I ever had to....you've just offered some...

    Insane by Andy Nyman

Fellas, we should NOT be PM'ing each other in regards to methods, guessing of methods, etc. If someone wants to make a purchase let them read reviews that will be popping up here soon. I know it seems harmless but it is ethically wrong unless both members own the effect. Thanks for your...

    Initial Feedback - Surge Deck

I am in agreement that a white border would make these babies pop. Just like Arcane decks. They went without the border and then V2 had the white border and it made the design pop more. Also...black cards that don't have a white border tend to get bad looking all around the edge after awhile...
