    Sunk Review - Seth Rovner

Thanks Will. By the way....had a blast last night and did blow some minds. Effect of the night that destroyed the guests was, Free Will (if you don't have this you should) look it up at Elmwood magic.

    Sunk Review - Seth Rovner

Hey Luis, I'll post one in there. I don't do as good of a job as Draven....he has these reviews down to a science. Either way, Sunk is not a product you want to buy.

    Sunk Review - Seth Rovner

Sunk Creator: Seth Rovner & Paper Crane Magic Linkhttp://www.papercranemagic.com/sunk.htm Price: $9.95 Download Run Time: 25 minutes Quality of Video: Good....a little dark lighting at times but nothing that you cannot see what's going on. Needed Materials for Gimmick: You will already have...

    First gig, any tips?

Here's exactly what I would do if I were in your shoes at this point in time. Practicing by yourself is not going to help you get ready for this gig. I would go perform the exact effects (that are going to be used in your gig)for spectators somewhere. Coffee shop, McDonalds, the local mall, next...

"75% of performances are poor...." -- Fitzkee

So do I win an award for starting a good thread? Ha Ha. Just kidding. Man...lots of powerful info thrown out here fellas. Love it.

I need a strong, simple card tricks.

Card College Lite also shows you how to string 3 card effects together so that at the conclusion of effect 1, you are already set for number 2 and so forth. As everyone else mentioned above me...my most requested piece is a sloppy triumph version. I can be out somewhere and people who have...

    My Comedy Card Routine

Asher, I see your view as well. Good point. Maybe it does fit his character to do so. That's why I'm glad we have many members here to get different perspectives.

I need a strong, simple card tricks.

I performed a lot of card magic last night, completely impromptu with a borrowed crappy deck. Stigmata when played up correctly and good acting....drew gasps and screams. I had forgotten about it and when I saw the condition of the deck I knew I had to use just a simple force and reveal.

    My Comedy Card Routine

Loved the performance Michael. The music is a very strong addition....do NOT change that. The only thing I would change is maybe get the Pheonix Parlour size cards and have someone cue your music for you so you do not have to bend down and touch your ipod at all. The audience loved it!

    A Magician´s Journal - "Surprise Gig" - Dec 22

Luis, Loved reading about your return. Double bonus by you including your pics. I like the new look man. You better not be copying my style bro. Just kidding. Welcome back!

    Shuffled, borrowed deck

I use Ultra Telethought Wallet 2. It is insane...but it is more of a business card wallet not a wallet that you could carry other effects in.

    Shuffled, borrowed deck

Thanks for jumping in Jacob, I'm grading a massive amount of quizzes right now and couldn't get too detailed. Yes, I meant to put gimmicked wallet but was in a hurry. Definitely go with a gimmicked wallet and then throw other effects into it. It will all fit in your pocket and you could...

"75% of performances are poor...." -- Fitzkee

Valid point Randy. I believe the best performers can blend the two aspects together. Copperfield does a great job of sucking you in emotionally to some of his stories that coincide with the magical effect.

    Shuffled, borrowed deck

First of all I would not limit myself to only Wire and Theory11 magic. That's just crazy. Rubber band material is fine and doesn't take up space. Crazy Man's Handcuff's, band through thumb, Touch, broken and restored, band up nose, Traveling Cash. Copper Silver Brass doesn't take up much space...

    YouTube Channel: Any Advice?

First off, the video quality is excellent. Your camera is nice. I am just going to be brutally honest and say that I really lost interest around 1:40 because you go out of frame and are just pulling cards from who knows where. Try to keep the cards in "frame" throughout the duration of your...

Dresscode Used in a Dance Contest?

Looked like an awesome night of fun. Dresscode looked okay, but I would have done it front in center so that nobody in the place would have missed it. It sort of gets lost in the mix of the other performer. Pretty cool that you incorporated it into your act though.

"75% of performances are poor...." -- Fitzkee

All great posts gentleman! Draven, I was lucky enough to borrow the 3 Fitzkee books from a magician in my neighborhood. I was so struck by that statistic that I had to post it and let everyone digest it. I don't know how accurate only 1 percent of magic being considered "good" is, but it really...

"75% of performances are poor...." -- Fitzkee

In Showmanship for Magicians pg. 4 Fitzkee is talking about how poor performances can not only hurt that particular magician, but all of us as a group. He states that a full seventy-five percent of magic performances are poor according to modern entertainment standards and another twenty-four...

    recommend a thread please

Yigal Mesika makes Loops, Elastics, and Thread. All of these are pretty darn good. You can find them anywhere on the web. Kevlar is a little stronger but is a tad easier to spot / see. Be careful. I've also heard of Gypsy Thread but have never tried it.
