Scotch & soda Or coin Unique ?

I love my scotch and soda set and have used it for 12 years. They are starting to make sets that do not require the bang ring but I'm not so sure if the spectator can handle it as freely. What was wrong with your set? Did you try having Tango send you a different set?

    Fire Stage Magic

http://www.donsmagic.com/yee/Sfire.htm This might help you out some. Be very careful that you tell the stage manager or owner of the theater that you will be using open flame on stage or you could get fined or asked not to come back to that venue. Many times there has to be a fire permit.

Gumball Magi-chine | Buzz Lawrence & Nexus Magic

This is an okay effect but highly predictable and definitely not for that price. I've seen three for sale at our IBM magic auction we host every single year and the most they brought was $150 a piece. Steven Bargatze does a funny routine with his on stage.

Taking a functional step forward in deck design

To answer your question I am not sure. I do not deal seconds. I would have to watch someone deal seconds with an all blank deck to see how it looks in person. I believe it was Keith Fields who gave me the idea to do the ACR with a blank deck and I also read about it in an old Linking Ring years...

    Entertaining 10 year olds

Man...David..you didn't even make him work. Ha Ha. Just kidding, that was awful nice of you. I will second that cups and balls plays well for that age group as well. I haven't tried the Tic Tac Toe Prediction but Reality One uses it quite well.

    Photo Finish

Michael, I actually enjoyed the routine but found the moves at 34 sec. 45 sec. and 1.03 to be a bit bold an obvious as well. I would love to see you film this live for an audience because I don't believe it would work. That is just my honest opinion. It is great in front of the camera and all...

Taking a functional step forward in deck design

Perform an ACR with a double blank (both sides). It is funny at first because the spectator laughs and "any" card would look like theirs when it comes to the top. Then have them sign their card and fry them.

    Entertaining 10 year olds

Hi Larssen, Is the party for just girls? All around the age of 9-10? or are there going to be some boys there as well? As mentioned by other members, this begins to become a tricky age group because many of them have already seen the "little kids" stuff like D'lites and magic coloring...

    Card Clips

If I were buying a card clip it would be a Porper, but nothing over $35.00. To be honest they do a good job but who cares. For $35.00 I can buy over 24 decks from Costco or Sam's Club. Our club has 25 + guys in it and only 1 guy uses a clip and it is a knock off one that just looks cool but...

Garrett Thomas lecture last night in Ohio

I enjoy the fact that he views magic as a "gift" that you are giving to your audience and that if you treat it as such, it doesn't leave much room for any hecklers at all.

Learning the muscle pass & it hurts bad

I know it sounds funny but I gave up after a month of only getting it 2-3 inches and hearing from numerous magicians that all the hard work is hardly ever recognized by the public / layman. I watched a guy at the magic castle perform one in the close up room that went up about 18 inches and the...

    Misdirection for Mercury Card Fold

Nice advice Beans...I'm sure there are more than a few people here that need help with confidence during their Mercury card fold...myself included.

Over coming the fear of performing in public.

This is DEFINITELY the case 9 times out of 10. I have had way more funny moments that happen randomly with my spectator interaction.

Garrett Thomas lecture last night in Ohio

He showed a few new card ideas he has as well as new rubik's cube stuff that isn't out yet. He is kind of getting away from the coins a bit.

Garrett Thomas lecture last night in Ohio

Oh how could I forget this...he has this hilarious 8 ball from wallet thing he does too. Totally catches everyone off guard.

    Misprints

To be honest I don't believe so. It could be valuable in the eye of the beholder I suppose because it is possibly rare. Many times cards are cut way off center or something isn't quite right. How misprinted are they?

    On Demand or download?

Personally I still like the good ole fashioned hard copy DVD or set of lecture notes but I understand with technology heading the other way, we are already into the digital age and probably won't head back. Many Borders Book Stores and Walden Books stores have closed due to iPads, Nooks, and...
