    lol! That's hilarious!

    Fooling a beginner ?

My response to that would be the same as I posted above regarding taking them aside. I just don't think it's a practical step for young performers. Not ready to play the role of a mentor.

How to handle a horrible show?

Randy's given the best advice so far. This is one reason why magicians who have no versatility get shat on. Nothing that requires memory should be an obvious one when performing for older folks. Gotta be able to do stuff that doesn't involve "pick a card, any card". On a side note, there's not...

    Make a YouTube tutorial!

I have to agree with popchris3. I don't think it would have any practical impact.

Fanning and one handed shuffle problem

Honestly, it sounds like you just haven't gotten the "knack" for the particular moves, that's all it is with all of those really. The fans are a matter of getting the pressure right, and the shuffle, the right pressure required.

    Where should I start?

Ok, I'll give you a few of the most commonly recommended starting points for a few areas of magic. Any of these will set you up with more than what you need. General Magic: Harlan Tarbell's Tarbell Course in Magic Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic Joshua Jay's Magic: The Complete Course...

    Fooling a beginner ?

I could never see that happening in practice. I would go around and meet people, and just explain that I'm being hired to entertain. It would take a stubborn spectator or particularly bad incident for someone to absolutely refuse. And it won't happen for every single person at the party. Sooner...

Bad News Mates: I'm Quitting Magic Forever

It's actually a pretty good practice to leave a card inside the box whenever you bust out a deck. Also, glimpse the top and bottom cards before they name a card, you never know. Unless you specifically need a full deck for something...

    Arcane Cards @ Ellusionist

No, E would never, ever do that. -_-" What's with the anti-hype, anyway? It happens with anything, really. Whatever gets business. As long as you don't fall for hype, and make a good decision.

    Arcane Cards @ Ellusionist

Haven't seen that flourish for a while... Certainly played around with it for a little while. I can only imagine how that would look with a tux.

This is Magic - Aim High

Haha, it sounds like he's trying to top Derren Brown really. But it's definitely aiming high, I'll say that much.

    Really Cool Twisting Cards Presentation

Brett is a fantastic magician and person. Though I haven't had the pleasure of meeting him personally, his reputation precedes him. Also note especially his tributes to the late Jack Parker.

    Fooling a beginner ?

Ah, you bring up a few good points. It looks like I have to reconsider how I say what I say. Do you entertain someone who doesn't want to be entertained? No, of course not. If you approach a group, and they obviously don't want to be entertained - they're in the middle of something, or having...

    Fooling a beginner ?

I want to quickly address also the advice that you should simply walk away. Sciffydof, whilst I don't agree with you per se, you brought up an interesting point earlier. What if you're in a professional gig? Walking away I feel is an approach that should be exercised with great and cautious...

    Fooling a beginner ?

Ok, time to chuck in one lone jumbo cent. I say jumbo cent because this post has exceeded the character limit, so I'm posting this in two parts. They don't actually produce one cent coins down here anymore either, but I have quite a number collected. Soooo.. Actually, firstly, if you haven't...

    Fooling a beginner ?

When I'm not half asleep and procrastinating an Accounting assessment :P For now, the realisation and point that one should always sort through and assess for themselves the validity of any answers they may receive to questions on internet forums, should keep the dedicated busy.
