    Center Deal

You have a card in the center of the deck that you want to deal, then you do a pass and deal it from the top.

    Unexpected Performance

Hey everybody, So, today was pretty exciting, I had to go to a local elementary school to get some observation hours to be able to pass my summer education class. So I finally get to the school and watch these kids for about two hours until they get a break and got to do whatever they wanted...

    David Blaine Effect

If Blaine did an effect exactly like it was written it would be easy for us magicians to find out where it's published, or where to learn it. He puts those variations in there to suit his style, and to pretty much up the ante on all of his effects.

How not to ask for a favor...

How did this have anything to do with my post that you quoted? Did I say "You must buy these 1-on-1's because there is nothing else you can do!"? I recommended them, yes. I also recommended that he use a search function, but I guess you must have overlooked that.

How not to ask for a favor...

Bill, You learned how to Greek Deal from EATCT? Also, I'm pretty sure Suhaas knows about the book as well. Is EATCT the best place to learn the bottom deal? It was a lot easier to visualize with a video and then go back to the book and reread the section, for me at least. Sure, Jason...

    Strike vs get ready DL

Rik, I agree with your post, but if you turn all of your singles over one way and do the double that you've practiced so hard on a different way a laymen will notice. Even if it's not right away, they will think back and say "Hmm he turned that card over differently, I wonder why". They get...

    Strike vs get ready DL

David, nice video. The only thing I don't like about that double is that you have to keep going to the inside right corner to get it. Although I don't know what it looks like when you consistently turn over a single card, it should look exactly like that when you do a double. A pinky count is...

Where can I learn the Sybil flourish?

It is a book for the advanced student that is willing to put in the time to learn these effects. Don't think he will hold your hand through each effect, it's up to you to take his explanation and learn it.

Where can I learn the Sybil flourish?

Also, forgot to add THE BOOK HAS AMAZING MATERIAL! Not only are you getting a great flourish, you're getting a plethora of hard hitting, amazing effects. Both the card worker, and coin worker get strong material from this.

Where can I learn the Sybil flourish?

The book teaches it amazingly, and gives an effect for you to use it in.

    Single card control

You just described a 'classic pass'. It all depends on how you replace the card and whether you can get a break cleanly. As already stated, you could do the overhand shuffle control, which I feel is very convincing.

    Street show help

I'm pretty sure he's got enough props to carry around for 'street magic'. But I guess a stripper deck could be ok, even though you can do just as good effects with a normal deck and have lighter pockets.

Shift, hop, pass, what's the difference?

A Hop is NOT a tabled pass. It is a hop :P The cards don't really ever touch, they literally hop the cut. So there are no packets to transpose once the cards are together. Very difficult, very impressive. Like Prae said, a pass can transpose any number of cards from bottom to top or top to...
