    Foundations: Help with bottom deal.

I spent a long time finding the right pressure and spot for my bottom deal. I did as Jason recommended and went through each deal one by one. If you can't do the Erdnase deal, I'm sure you will have trouble with the others as well. You hand size really doesn't have anything to do with it, you...

    Hypnosis

Oh, I've contacted Anthony and everything, I just wasn't into it :P I had a wild misconception of what Hypnosis was, and when I watched through all of his stuff, and read his book, I just wasn't satisfied (not with his material, but with Hypnotism itself). Although, I do like to incorporate...

    Hypnosis

Oh Hypnosis... I spent a good month with Anthony Jaquin's material, but just never really 'got it' I suppose. When I do some of the little mentalism I know, I do a faux hypnosis. Like D ICE R said, Derren has mastered the use of this and it helps add to the effect tenfold. I love to quote...

The Positivity Thread - Say Something About Someone

I would also like to say something about Jason England. He is a great teacher, and helps out in any way he can. He has answered many of my PM's with his advice and put out so many great videos. Definitely one of my favorite people on T11. Thanks Jason!

    No talking in flourishing DVDs?

Time = Money. Also, Genesis is more of a beginner DVD so I feel Andrei wanted to really make sure you learned all of the fine points of each move. Harder stuff pretty much assumes you know the basic moves. I like being able to hear what they're doing, more than having to rewind every 5...

Zarrow shuffle or Push Though shuffle?

In my personal opinion I like the push through more. The Zarrow is great, but for me I like the way a push through with the tiniest (keyword) is amazing. The Zarrow, unless you do it perfect, will always look a little fishy if someone is burning your hands. I second you getting foundations.

    Prediction Player Card to Shirt

Ehh.. maybe if the cards were a part of that painting line like "Patience - some random words here" under the cards that are framed. Instead of just 5 cards on a black t-shirt..

    Voting Open for Gambling Effect!

Hahaha, I'm sitting on the floor so I can have my camera up high enough to film my close-up pad :P. I can't afford a tri-pod so I pretty much ghetto-rig it as best I can. :D

    Voting Open for Gambling Effect!

Particle - Please try telling Darwin Ortiz this isn't a gambling effect, as it is taught in the table artifice section of "Darwin Ortiz at the Card Table". There were 3 specific gambling 'moves' that I used in this effect. If I would have challenged him to a gambling demonstration of a...

    Crazy Man's Handcuffs

I believe it is in Tarbell Volume 1. Also, Micheal Ammar has it in his book, and it is by far the best explanation. He goes into saying how the one in Tarbell wasn't taught right or something. Anyway, my recommendation is to buy "The Magic of Micheal Ammar" and learn it from there, along...

    Packet Order Control

Chad Long's "Shuffling Lesson" could do the trick. The spec thinks you're showing them how to shuffle, but really they're stacking the deck themselves.

    Voting Open for Gambling Effect!

Prae - Thanks for all your advice. I just learned the gamblers cut so I figured I would use it haha. It's one of those cuts that just looks so good it must be real. As for the shuffles, a new deck of cards likes to go everywhere. I understand what you mean, I should go with something like "But I...

    Voting Open for Gambling Effect!

Hey guys, please take some time to vote :D http://media.theory11.com/battles/battle.php?id=1567 Also: For my video you may have to turn the volume up, for some reason YouTube made the audio low. So crank them speakers up, the effect isn't good without the patter ;) As always, I would...

Books, Info, Notes, Anything for Routining

"More Than Meets the Eye" by Dan Harlan. I picked it up for $15 bucks at his lecture, and you can get it through him at Danharlanmagic@yahoo.com These notes are amazing, he has you go through and write down every effect you can, or want to perform. Then shows you how to script, routine, and...

    "Show me some magic..."

Prae - As always you are correct (I mean that in a good way :D). I understand about good presentation of an effect and that it's the entertainer that ultimately affects the outcome of whether an effect will be good or not. The point I was trying to get to, even though I didn't say it clearly...

    "Show me some magic..."

Mike, I was referring to this statement. Sure a showing a double and the revealing a different card can be powerful, but it is hard to create a story with that. Sure you could build up some story about the physical properties of a card and how a magician can twist and bend them, but why...

    "Show me some magic..."

A sloppy triumph. I don't really like the double lift, and revelation. No story, no plot, no action, no connection. All your saying is "Here's this card, now wait for it... now it's changed!". Where's the drama? Why would a spectator care about this, other than novelty. If you want to...

    Center Deal

Haha, yes Chris I was joking :D Sorry for the confusion. It would be quite hard to do a pass every time you wanted to deal the center card, and then another pass to put it back in the center, all while keeping good dealing rhythm and not looking suspicious.
