    A $1000 Dollar Routine

I don't know. Again, like cm, I don't make my living as a professional magician. But I do have at least two routines I know that I could, in time, perform as individual half hour shows, featuring just that one effect, for considerable money per show - If I committed myself to becoming a magician...

    Centurions are Sold Out

Yeah, they are. Quick note: Your link won't work because you have a period at the end of the URL. :)

    Advice on the False Count...

Don't need to do it fast, only smoothly. Which is not to say you can perform as a 120 year old lady with arthritis - keep it brisk, but don't rush it. The main thing is getting each motion even with all the others. There's a great handling of the traditional Elmsley Count (I assume you're using...

What's the most advanced card sleight?

You can tell who read this thread properly, and thought about it - and who obviously lacks the mental capacity to do so.

    Psychological Forces

I'm not sure I buy it - but having never known a Dutch person well, I'll take your word for it.

    Cardistry Cards

Haha, I guessed. Honestly, the truth is that different people have different preferences. Some cards feel markedly different to others. Some find that better, some worse - it's purely a preference, so best thing to do is, over time, to try out everything and see what you like.

    Lots o' Tricks

Haha, thanks mate. Not to say you were wrong though - it would have been more accurate to say: On top of what Randomwrath said - it's definitely true that you need to work out openers middles and closers - but do it with a small repertoire rather than a big chunk of effects. Some people...

What's the most advanced card sleight?

It's an interesting perspective to say the double lift. I think that they way you phrased it, it comes down to this: advanced is not the same as technical difficulty necessarily. And you definitely see way more bad double lifts than bad raise rises.

    Lots o' Tricks

That's all very well and good, but the simple fact is this: if you seriously want to perform to the best of your ability, at some point in time, you will need to drastically reduce the number of effects you perform. Creating routines of them all is not enough - having 5 routines of 5 effects...

    bigblindmedia

I can vouch for the concept behind Casanova Concept - it really is a brilliant concept with a lot of applications. What you make of it is up to you.

You can't pick-up chicks with magic?

Girls don't have crushes on magic. They have crushes on guys. If they don't like you as a person, they won't like you for your magic. And your person makes the magic happen. I'm not a particularly attractive guy but I've never had any issues with getting a girl, and I've never had to use any...

Two books that I love to read.

Tricks of the Mind is definitely an interesting book. Actually, I own it almost purely for the sake of the anecdotes, although there is some interesting psychological information in them also. Although it must be said, his writing style in particularly... Verbose. I like it, but it can be...

    Bureau d'Échange

And I for once agree with nexus too. Frankly, you don't have to prove anything to criticise, especially when you yourself offer a video up for criticism. Think of any sport you like. Say that baseball pitcher isn't performing well. So you criticise him. The notion that you have to be at least...

    "Just Cut to the Chase!"

I'd add something else to that. It seems to me, from what you've mentioned about your presentations, that your presentations just aren't convincing. Honestly, this is a pet peeve of mine. Take for example, the Time Machine trick. First sentence: "This Ace is a time machine." In that one...

    Psychological Forces

I don't know about a cultural difference. I certainly know of many European mentalists who have given a similar story to myself; it's possible that it's just a thing with the Netherlands but I don't think that's likely. Out of curiosity, do you perform mentalism only at shows, and such? One...
