Best Chemical for the Invisible Deck

Most magicians including myself use Testor's Dull Cote. It is a spray on adhesive that can be found in most hobby shops and such for about $5.00 a can.

Roundtable Discussion - Calen Morelli + Blake Vogt

How do both of you gentleman view the older generation of magicians who have come before you? Do you believe that there are things that you can take from them and utilize in your own creative way or are many of them so far removed from the material you come up with? Do you use the exact same...

    Magician looking for more recognition

I concur with Draven's constructive criticism. Also "recognition" is the proper spelling for the word. If you want recognition, do it by getting yourself out in the working environment as opposed to performing for the camera. Get as many gigs as you can and begin to promote yourself to various...

New trick using a house key and a deck of cards...

That's funny. I didn't even look at the date on your initial post.

New trick using a house key and a deck of cards...

This really isn't a new effect. Your handling and patter may be different, but Justin Miller has a very similar effect that produces the key from cards that he put out on "Strolling Hands DVD" a few years ago.

    A Magician's Journal - "Diablos" - Feb 13

Luis, that is excellent my friend. Sometimes things just pop up like this and you have to run with them. I'm happy for you. Looking forward to more stories from this place. Good luck with the architect job. It is definitely nice to not have to rely on just "magic" income to make ends meet. Hope...

    Flip Video Camera for Magic?

Your best bet would be to save a tad more money and buy a small HD cam for around $300 which will provide you with a much nicer sound quality and better zoom. If you are just "messing around" and don't care much then the FLIP will be fine but I know way too many guys who say they wished that...

    close up or street

I'm with Draven on this. My close up magic and street magic are the almost the exact same material. Some of the effects are performed in their hands (which is very strong) and some of it is done in my hands. A close up performance can be for a paying client or it could be for total strangers...

Tony Clark In and Out Rope Escape ON SCOUTS

That should be a great routine. I was actually an Eagle Scout but as far as remembering all of the knots we used to tie over 15 years ago....hmmmm...I would be of zero help. Sorry man. There are lots of knots and I know some would definitely pose a challenge to escape from so remember the Boy...

E Card Clip or Card Guard

The E clips look amazing but in my honest opinion they do not do as good as of job as the porper clip. Sometimes in magic you get what you pay for. I would just spend the extra and get a Porper so you are not kicking yourself later.

Wanna Be Sure I Created It

You may want to contact Garrett Thomas. He is the creator of Ring Thing and Banded. He does some finger and ring magic and while he is doing the ring and finger magic...he does a few things with his finger where it looks like he rips it off and puts it back on. You might want to see if it is the...

    Magic for a Celebrity

Chris is correct. There is nothing wrong with talking and getting to know the person and having interaction. Don't feel the need to bust out 15 effects in a half hour. With patter and interaction and laughter I can make 4 or 5 effects go almost a half hour. Also...know when to stop. Don't go...

Review of Magic Series 2011 Part 2 - Shane Black

"Magic Series Part 2 offers some great practical effects. Do NOT pass these up as "throw aways". These are real workers, as Shane has used them for years entertaining audiences in a loud venue. " "This is simple magic that hits hard visually. Matched is similar to the classic match book trick...
