    Best Triumphant...

My new favorite to perform is Half-Triumph from Daniel Madison's Collateral notes. It's easy to perform, works well and gets good reactions. Sloppy Shuffle is another fun one, simplicity and fun patter ideas. -Rik

    'Proximity Effects'

I'd PM Dee personally. He's good about getting back to people and he would know the answer best. -Rik

    Cubers?

I do them, not as often as I use to. I'm not 10 second solver, but usually do a 3x3 in under 2 mins. I use to be able to solve a 4x4 but haven't touched one in so long I don't know how long/if I could do it. -Rik

    Official // 1-on-1 // Wants

I want a non-visual, next to impossible to perform card/coin/rubber band/sponge ball combination trick...or maybe I should just invent my own. -back to reality- Something impromptu, cards preferably. Simple but effective. Another JBayme 1-on-1 maybe? ;)

    Controls

A side steal (that probably has a name, but I didn't 'learn' it from anywhere) Classic and Herman Pass Most recently I started using a sort of...I guess pass-esk control...not really a pass, but does the work of one...I stumbled upon it a month or two ago messing around, the actual method...

    Starting Small

First off, congrats on successfully performing. I think you should look into the 1-on-1 section for a few basic tricks. A few I'd look at that I think you'd be comfortable performing are: Sloppy Shuffle Triumph and Invisible Reverse from CK If you have the tricks DVD for the...

    I have $50, what should I buy?

I think everyone is wrong. I personally think you have plenty of material, unless you've perfected everything you wish to learn from the things you listed. Advice::Save the money. You don't have to put it into a savings account. Just put it away somewhere. Save it until something...

    "Do a trick."

Grabbing your thumb and pulling it off a few inches (like I'm sure a lot of your uncles use to do) is always fun. You'll get a laugh at least.

RIOT by Dan Hauss - Details & The Dizzle - Friday, October 31st

Saying something isn't good, based on the fact that it is 'under-performed', is a bad excuse for not getting it. They say it is simple, something T11 has never lied about (at least from my experience) and if it is simple to do, you can use your other hand in any performance wave or slow jedi...

    What color would you choose?

I'm going to be totally different. The second ones. (not different) Don't darken the lines to black, maybe highlight some of the lines darker (the wings, some of the main scroll) but the reason it looks so awesome is the faded color, imho. Sweet design. How long have you been working on it?

    Why Books?

Agreeing with the plethora of information already stated and moving with two cents worth of input-a quick story if you will. I have been learning from books from the moment I decided to take magic seriously. Through the first few books I'd read I was performing effects as I saw them working...

    Another Great Library Time...

Nice work. I always like to draw in people by just fiddling with a deck of cards. I don't know any fancy flourishes, but just holding cards can get peoples attention, and by doing so you usually get spectators who want to see and believe in magic. Reminds me of when I was in high school...

Show me a video that's better!

Shadows as performed by Teller. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un1pNtmYguA One of my favorite pieces of magic.

    How many tricks?

I know quite a few, not about to sit and think and count them. I know 5 or 6 inside and out, great reactions that boggle minds and I use these as much as possible. Another 10-15 I have, or can have, performance ready in a matter of minutes. Go over to make sure I remember the sequences...

    Inspirations for Card Magic

Just to reiterate all the points made. Books=Gold. A lot of people will never realize this, and that's better for those of us who love books. I'll also give you an example that I heard from a podcast I've been listening too (going through 97 archived podcasts...so time consuming, so worth...

Hmm. I'm going to PM you with some questions that might help me give suggestions, and we can talk about it. -Rik

    Spectators don't care...

The biggest thing in my experience is doing tricks to people who do watch magic on TV. The Blaine specials and Mindfreak (though mostly stage style-illusion, has close-up in it). And doing something as simple as two card monte, as DB handles it, is like 'Wow, you're like David Blaine, how...

    Patter suggestions

As for the Buck's patter, they don't do much in the way of giving you any (on the DVD's at least, they could perform it differently in real life). It depends on your style for what you'll say. Take Subway. The name implies one of two things. The first is, sandwich...you buy it at subway...

    Power Word: Fall

Exactly what I was thinking. Hmm...need the money, guess it'll have to wait. At least I'll be able to see the reviews first.
