Tired of Magicians Taking No Action

I agree with a lot of these points, but I'd rephrase it as follows: We definitely need to listen to each other. As well, we should stop arguing. However, constructive criticism is more than welcome, as are opposing viewpoints. Just as we would like our thoughts heard, we should always be...

    My Aunt on A&E

Given the response you've gotten from E and Penguin, and even claiming that this place has a reputation for bashing others, then why would you even post here? Are you seriously telling me you didn't expect this response? You said you know this place has a reputation for bashing, so I'd be...

    My Aunt on A&E

It sounds like he gets his kicks and "fame" from trolling, no matter the time or place (here or there, now or 2006), and really juices every situation (good or bad--his aunt's fraudulent success, or his friend's murder) to get his name out there. That's just sick.

    My Aunt on A&E

So you work in the health field, you volunteered at the twin towers site, and you do magic. That's all the article said about your profession or work related activities. In fact, where it mentions you identifying bodies, it is framed in a way that implies you'll be doing that as part of your...

The Main Event: A True "Astonishment"

Awesome! Thanks DoctorMagic. And congratulations to all of the others who made it through. :) Although I won't be home around 8pm, I am still excited to see what's next.

    MSN Revealing Magic...

Well, I'm doubting any magician wants their magic exposed; rather, it's something that has to be put up with in order to get their work out there (for whatever reason--recognition of accomplishment, making money, helping to provide material for younger/other magicians, etc). It's a matter of...

SYMPHONY :: Contest Winners - Announced

Well, when ya take into account that the contest started at 11pm EST, and the Northern Eastern Seaboard (which consists of some 80 million Americans and Canadians; it includes Niagra, Toronto, London, Windsor, Detroit, New York, and the like) runs on EST, while the UK would be at a very awkward...

    DG : Symphony ///

Agreed, the individual effect descriptions were very brief. And the other descriptions didn't seem all that fleshed out. I'd also call into question the recommended "audience"--just show your friends and move on? Huh? I didn't realize every effect needed to have over the top, yelling and...

    Unwarping cards?

Quite honestly, the only method I would suggest would be using a card clip by Joe Porper. Any others just pale in comparison. The Porper card clip exudes quality, and works better than any other clip I have used. While there are cheaper alternatives out there, the Porper is the best way to go. :)

    Custom Deck

Yeah, that's a good idea. I had planned on getting the input of a few friends (less than 17, haha), and of course my brother (fellow magician, and card collector). And thanks! Hopefully yours turns out as well as you hope, too! :)

    Custom Deck

Interesting. The wait is the hardest part, eh? Hehe. I'm not exactly ready to share what I have, at the moment. It's still extremely rough, and there are a few versions of it (trying to find what I like and don't like--I literally have over 10 versions of the current design, some of which...

    Custom Deck

Yeah, I was looking at that company, and a Canadian company, to get a deck of my own printed (not nearly done designing it; I'll probably wait at least another year or so, refining and tweaking it...maybe even longer). So yeah, please do let me know how it goes. I'd be interested to hear...

    Custom Deck

Ahh, that's excellent then. Do keep up informed. :) Just curious, are you getting it done by Bicycle (seems to be the common route), or through another company? I'm interested to hear about what else is out there. :)

    Brand New Back Designs

The red hurts my eyes. And a colour gradient is when the colour transitions from white to red, or white to black, instead of just flat out changing from a flat white to a flat red, or flat white to a flat black. I think the reason someone brought it up is because E's Shadow Masters have...

    Custom Deck

I actually like the pink looking colour over what was almost a darker blood red...it fits the flowery look. :) I wonder how that'll actually print, though.

    Custom Deck

Looks very...flowery. Neat. Question: Is there a pink outline around it, a pink gradient, a pink tinge to the whole of the design, or are my eyes just playing tricks on me? o_O

    Ace Of Spades

The thing is, they don't approach Bicycle looking for Bicycle to "put their deck out", so to speak. Those companies all pay Bicycle for their services, which anyone can do. It's just that since, say, T11, prints such a large amount of cards with them on a regular bases, they garner a good...

    Ace Of Spades

What company? Unless you're commissioned for a Bicycle design, you'll more than likely get sued if you put those out. It'd definitely be in your best interest to brand them as your own brand. Note how Theory 11 even names each of its decks something different. If you get the deck printed by...
