For those of you who don't know Zac, he was a huge contributer here in the forums in the past and we are welcoming him back. I've always enjoyed Zac's close up street magic performances that he shares with us. He is a very knowledgeable guy and is always willing to give advice to help...

    Best Method to Selling Effects

I will second Josh Jay. Send your info to Vanish Inc. and let him take a look or read. He is a great magic historian as well as lecturer and performer. He knows quite a bit about methods and what has been done before.

    Lecture...

Danny, Most magicians charge either the club or IBM ring their lecture fee and additionally charge for their notes and merchandise. For people who are not part of the said organization or ring...the ring then charges at the door anywhere between 10 and 15 bucks which then goes back to the ring.

    Prediction Player Card to Shirt

My understanding is that you need to wear a jacket over it to perform the effect. I have a good feeling I know how it works but wouldn't even pay 30 bucks for it let alone what they are asking.

    Lecture...

Chris is correct. Most lectures last 2 hrs. with about a 15 minute break in the middle. Lecture notes usually go from $10 up to $25 I've seen depending on the binding, amount of material, etc. Most magicians charge the local club that they are lecturing at a minimum of $250.00 plus the club...

    Prediction Player Card to Shirt

Looks interesting. I'm laughing because the trailer music was copied from the "SAW" movies. Sounded cool though.

Some questions about the Invisible deck ...

You can touch up an older ID with a mentioned product at craft stores or a hobby store. It will run you about 5 bucks and the time to do it. Most people just fork out an additional 5 bucks and get a new ID.

    Lecture...

I have been to about 15 lectures and 2 workshops. Some people get workshops and lectures confused. I'll try to explain the difference in my own words. Workshop: Hands on session for a small amount of people. 20 people at most. Everyone brings cards, coins, etc. to work at the tables and get...

How do you fix clumpy cards?

Fanning powder and sweaty palms from heat don't mesh well. Toss the deck and get a new one. That is another reason I just use regular bikes. You cannot beat the price of 13 decks for $14 bucks at Sam's or Costco.

    Nervous Performing

As everyone has said...EVERYONE gets nervous at some point and EVERYONE makes mistakes. I have been doing magic for 10 years and still do this day get nervous when driving to a gig and even have one or two flubbed effects during a 3 hour gig. It just happens. Learn from the mistakes. Have...

    Clear Plastic Block?

A friend of mine was given a box of magic props by a friend of his who used to do magic. Yesterday we were going through the stuff and he said, "What's this clear deck thing that fits inside a card box?" The sides are roughed up and from the side it looks like a deck of cards. If you put one...

    Kick ass prediction effect?

I think playing something up really big like Copperfield does is the way to go. You will want or need to have something tossed out into the crowd like the frisbee or balls or something to show the randomness of the spectators. Good luck with this. I don't do any stage or big predictions but...

    Building your Best Routine

Haavard, I agree. I would never go from rubber bands to coins to cards back to rubber bands. There definitely has to be a good flow to the show and set. Prae, Good point! Perfection does take years because you have to have had enough repetition to see how an effect plays our in many...

    Building your Best Routine

D ICE R, I would have to agree with you. There probably needs to be some type of time line or time frame where you simply do not cut it until it has been tested quite a few times. Your welcome Justin.
