It's funny. A couple years ago, I came up with this exact same method on my own. I asked around and then found out that my method for ring to necklace was Northbound. That was quite a disappointing feeling =(.

Mark Allen (as the locals call him) is a really cool guy. I've met him a couple times but I've never seen him perform. He studied under Curtis Kam while Curtis was still doing the Magic in Paradise show at the Hale Koa hotel which is the show that Mark is now doing.

Last time I saw them they were at about $104.

The magician who really taught me how to perform is a man named Bobby Acoba. He's a bartender who does magic in a bar at the Ala Moana hotel in Hawaii. This guy can take the simplest piece of magic and make it the most amazing thing that you've ever seen.

Does anyone use any of the other variations of STS out there? Like Paul Harris' no gimmick version that he released through linking laces or the Animated Shoelaces from Precision Magic?

The pressure fan was actually the first fan I learned. I'd have to say the Carnahan fan was the hardest for me.

Agreed, though it would be nice to have a video companion for the effects he teaches so that you can follow along with the book. I think I'll pass though. By the way, Totally Out of Control is probably the best thing I've bought in the three years I've been doing magic.

The gimmick takes some time to get used to. When I took it out of the package I was like :confused:, so I definitely recommend watching the DVD before handling the gimmick.

What's up everyone? This is my first review for T11. First of all, I would like to comment on the packaging. I did the cheap shipping and what I got in the mail was a box filled with the packaging popcorn stuff and the DVD, gimmick, and cards at the bottom. For $5 I was really impressed...

Where did the package come from? Because if it came from South Carolina then mine might be in today.

HA! My favorite ones were Curtis', Dan's, and Simon's. I actually know Bobby from Curtis' story. He's an amazing bar magician. If any of you go to Honolulu, check out the Ala Moana hotel. There's a bar on the 36th floor called Aaron's and that's where Bobby works. Ask for Mr. Magic.

I'm also a beginner in coin magic myself. So far I can recommed Cultural Exchange like Scott said. I can also recommend David Roth's Expert Coin Magic Made Easy three volume DVD set.

So to clarify, the way the gimmick was made means it's only made for the kings, correct?
