    What to expect? First performance!

That is what I meant by just a "little" cologne. I agree with you though that if you are used to your own scent, that you might accidentally put on more and then people will really notice it and it might be a bit much. Scented body wash does work well too if you don't want any cologne.

    Show us your business card!

The color looks better but something still looks a bit "too busy" with the symbol and back ground pattern. I don't know man. I will sign up for an instant message account tonight and get back to you around 10:00 when my kids go to bed.

New Book Out: The Official CIA Manual of Trickery and Deception

This book explains exactly that. They wanted to be able to hand off items, pills, etc. to different agents without being noticed right in front of the public eye. It goes on to discuss how weapons could be gimmicked and placed in objects that one would never suspect such as an umbrella, tube...

New Book Out: The Official CIA Manual of Trickery and Deception

Just starting reading a fascinating new book regarding the C.I.A and American magician John Mulholland. It is a book that discusses how Mulholland wrote manuals for American C.I.A agents to train them in magic techniques, deception, etc. for military and undercover purposes during the Cold...

    What to expect? First performance!

Here are some things that ran through my mind. 1.) Be yourself and not try to imitate Blaine or other magicians you have watched. This will make you look and feel silly. People want to see you for who you actually are - A likable person who is fun to hang out with whether you are the magician...

    Show us your business card!

Chris, I love the smoked front business card but not the back so much. Something is off. As far as the other one....I don't mind the background design, but I do agree with others that the color scheme is "blah". Change it to dark red or something and see what it looks like.

    Strangely Cut Bikes?

They are worthless. I've had a few of these as well and I just use them for practicing.

    Closeup Competition

I have sat next to judges at close up competitions before and they want "originality" for sure. They do not want to see the same old ambitious routine, cut and restored rope, yadda yadda yadda....you get the drift. Be very creative and it will pay off. One effect that stood out at the...

    Sinful07 - Voluntary Work Fundraiser

That is exactly what you could do and it works quite well. I've seen it done in my hometown by magicians quite a few times. Do a Saturday Night Show and a Sundary matinee / afternoon type show for people to come to after church is over.

    Need Mentalism Help

Devin Knight's "Blind Sight" is a phenomenal effect that you might want to add. It only runs like $25 I believe. It has a kicker ending that really blows people away.

    What have I missed?

You missed Draven's essay contest as well I believe. Not sure how many weeks ago that was and I was even a judge.

    Spotting the Double Lift

The Push Over Double lift is kind of knacky but if you get it that will help you. I do what Prae does and point the deck down and to the right so that the break is towards the ground just until I go to do the lift.

THAT, good sir... is a trick deck!

I have a buddy of mine who purposely carries two svengali decks with him which both have blue backs so when he does an effect and then puts them away the spectator will usually ask him what would happen had they chose a different card. He then pulls out the other svengali and goes through an...

    Writers Block!

Relax Draven. Seriously you do not have to contribute a message EVERY single day. Perhaps just tell us something new you tried or are working on or a reaction you got from a spectator. Or...how about just stepping away from Theory11 for a few days and come back. I do this from time to time...

    Girl to Gorilla Video

I liked that. Watching people run out was insane. I worked a haunted house once as a gorilla and every now and then I'd chase the people all the way out of the attraction. This was at Cedar point years ago.

    Sponsors?

Ed Ellis worked for Gatorz clothing line while doing magic at Hilton Head. They supplied him with dress shirts, t-shirts, sunglasses, hats etc. if that is what he would wear during all of his gigs down there. It was a good deal.
