    Wet Hand

I've posted this quite a few times on here but you can try any type of hand sanitizer like Purel. There is alcohol in it which helps dry out the skin. I use it all of the time and even put some on my hands before every gig to help with the sweating and nerves.

David Copperfield in Cleveland - 10/2/09!

That's awesome Ash. I was there for that exact show too. I saw you. I was the one who went up on stage during 13 and sat to the far right in one of the witness stools. I had on jeans and a striped shirt. Not that you would remember me though...ha ha. Great story.

A Thank You Message To Everyone

Even though you sometimes have to sort though the "non educational" threads here, if you find good ones it is very helpful. I have gained a ton of insight from Draven, Chopper, Morg, Prae, Shane Black, and a few others on board here. Glad Theory 11 was able to improve your knowledge...

    Improve Your Mind: Contest Details!

Although Morg referenced me as Paula, I will say that I was not high or drunk while grading your essays. Paula is fairly hot though in her old age. Ha Ha.

    Football Field Vanish

The only way I can think of doing it is some type of diversion where you somehow exit the field looking just like one of the cheerleaders or a mascot. Another idea that comes to mind is the football team "run through" sign that alot of teams have now days you could somehow use that in the...

    Talent Show

Keoke, You are correct. If he has never done tossed out or fiber optics it might be a bit much to get everything perfect. I do like the miser's dream idea somehow tied into a stealing from a bank theme. Siren's and lights flashing in the back drop as you exit....AWESOME idea. "Bad Boys...

    Improve Your Mind: Contest Details!

Sinful, I understand your frustration. As it was mentioned before, it is VERY easy for someone online to say they are entering and then when push comes to shove they take the easy way out and do not follow through with their plan. Some people simply were overwhelmed and did not feel...

How much do you offer for gigs?

There is a TON of valuable information in Draven's post that he has linked. I have gained a lot of insight and tips by reading through its entirety. It may seem like a large amount of info to digest but it is well worth it. I can't believe he hasn't made a small booklet yet and charged for it...

How much do you offer for gigs?

I normally do Walkaround / Strolling gigs for cocktail parties, company picnics, etc. and I charge $100 per hour. I normally only work 3 hrs straight. You may want to negotiate two 10 minute breaks in there also to get a drink, use the restroom, etc. As everyone else has mentioned.....each...

    The Big Tiny

Prae makes a good point. I would only use the same type of cards throughout the performance / gig. It would look really lame to use a cheap deck of cards and then bust out bikes or split spades...etc. Keep it consistent.

As jtmorris stated. I think you're two best bets for this are to perform Tossed Out Deck, Fiber Optics Rope Routine, and then maybe 1 more non card effect.

    Cobra Sharpie 2.0?

Shane if you see any other info on it, like good reviews, please let me know. This is definitely something I may have my wife get me for X-mas.

Your Favourite Deck - Help Me

I will echo Draven's post. I only use Red and Blue Bikes during performances / paid gigs. People are not suspicious and they are the most familiar to them. I know all the custom deck lovers on here will bash me and say, "Well...there should be no suspicion with the custom decks if you know...

    Improve Your Mind: Contest Details!

As a judge, I want this contest to be a success as well. I believe we have enough entries, however, it is not even close to the 40 or so people who signed up. I do realize that school, work, etc. does take priority over a magic essay contest. I have contacted Draven, and I too feel that the...

    Cobra Sharpie 2.0?

Thanks Dee. Yes...this is the one I am thinking of. Not the Quantum Bender that is over $400. I am talking about the Cobra Sharpie 2.0 that runs around $150. I think it would be a great way to do roulette at parties / gigs. I am hoping there is more than just one or two effects. I just...

Sanders' Fiber Optics might play nicely for this crowd size.

    Cobra Sharpie 2.0?

I am really looking to add something strong to my arsenal and cannot find many reviews from anyone who has this. Does anyone actually know someone who has purchased this and is it practical or do people start to "burn" the pen wondering about its use / importance to the effect? It seems...

Should I submit this or not?

Keep it! Wait until you have 3-5 nice effects and do a DVD like Garcia did with Symphony. You'll probably have much more success. Make sure you have done your homework though and give credit where credit is due.

Ideas for a fire based/thread routine

I tell you what man. I hate to sound like I am advertising for Kostya but WARNING would be perfect for this little routine that needs some flash to it. It is a great opener and hits fast and hard.

yeah..teachers love days off too but it sucks trying to get lesson plans done for a sub. It is easier just to suck it up and be there.
