    Original Trick : Konceptual-X

Keeping my personal views of this trick to myself, I'd just like to point out that by posting this video on the forums you're actually hurting your chances of having it picked up by Theory11, or any company that would know you posted here. I can't remember if it was here or at E, but it's...

    Split Spades

Queen of Hearts, actually. But yeah, who all of the court cards are is listed on the FAQ on David Blaine's very own website. I suggest you go ahead and check that out. And the rest of the questions have already been answered fully. Yay, another set of questions down! Also, just to note...

    You are not an artist!

Yes. If we're discussing something that we all define differently, that discussion cannot and will not go anywhere--that is why it's a requirement (note: It's not necessarily a rule, but it's pretty damn necessary if you expect your papers to get published) to define terms in a scientific paper...

    You are not an artist!

Steerpike: Before I address the whole issue of who should or should not be considered an artist, what do you consider the definition of artist to be? It seems like a lot of people are disagreeing with what it means to be an artist, and therein lies the problem. In science/social science papers...

    You are not an artist!

I lol'd. The paragraph you quoted was not about money or making a living. It was mentioned, yes, but if you're only getting a theme of money from it then you're obviously just being ignorant. I'll requote it so you can re-read it: Making a living, and thus money, was mentioned, yes. But if...

    You are not an artist!

After reading over that paragraph a few times, it strikes me as odd that you'd miss the entire point the poster was making. It wasn't about money--it's about displaying your art for others to see (whether that be magic, pictures, or film) and how that has little effect on whether or not what...

    Swami Gimmick

I don't buy from Penguin, so go figure. And if that's actually the nail one (as apposed to the lead that just sticks to your thumb), then thanks! :)

    Swami Gimmick

E sells the thumbtip ones (you have to read their product page, possibly even a disclaimer, to figure that out though--the picture shows a different type of gimmick than what they sell). I wouldn't suggest those ones. I'm actually looking for a Swami gimmick myself; I'm looking for the one...

    Let's break the record!

Works for Canada, too. It'll be 11pm here, as well, since it's EST. On the West they'll be behind by 3 hours, so 8pm for them, and upwards of a half hour to an hour ahead on the East coast of Canada. All in all, it works. :)

    Let's break the record!

How is that not too early? It's News Years day...given how some spend their New Years Eve, that's still bedtime for some. ;) Edit: And oops, double post. =/

    Let's break the record!

I like the idea, but not the date. Gunna be spending New Years with my girlfriend and a lot of alcoholic beverages (it wouldn't be New Years if we spent it any other way :P)...so I prolly won't want to, or even remember to, log on here at that time. I'm open for another date and time, though. :)

    (db).bulletin : Split Spade : 2008 Image Awards - WINNERS POSTED

Wow...that was quite incredible. I had the same feeling watch that as I do when I watch an actual Theory 11 teaser. Good job. :) I'll be posting my entry (a picture) a little closer to the deadline, once I get some feedback from my friend on the pictures I have so far.

    This Made Me Cry [Haha]

I couldn't stop laughing when I heard that, haha. Like really, what's the worst thing that kid could order at a pub...root beer?

    WayneHouchin.com

Thanks for taking the time to give us an update on what's happening! :) Although, it's still weird that it works for some, but not all, of us. One would think a site that is down wouldn't work for anyone. o_O Oh well, it'll be good to go for everyone soon anyway, so all is well. :)

    Comedy, is it necessary?

Well, serious isn't necessarily "disturbing", as you seem to imply. It could also be mysterious (ie. Blaine). My brother tends to go a more serious route, and he gets gigs just fine (and when he gets an award show type of gig, or something else that happens annually, he is usually invited...
