What's good magic for little kids?

There are some great suggestions here! I may try out a few rope tricks and see how the kids respond to them. It's really more a matter of my work space, like I explained earlier. I'm standing up, without a table, performing for kids who, in a lot of cases, are stationary. I'll let you...

What's good magic for little kids?

Well, there's also the problem of having to carry all of my equipment around with me, so it would be better if I had just a few versatile items on my person, like cards, coins, and rope.

What's good magic for little kids?

Yeah, the problem is that in a lot of cases, the kids are stuck lying down in their beds, or they are in casts, so I have to be careful about where I perform for them (it does admittedly make my angles easier to manage, though). The other problem is that the hospital has a lot of rules that...

What's good magic for little kids?

I've just started volunteering at Children's Hospital in New Orleans. I go from room to room doing a mini show for patients. The problem is, most of the patients are in the four to ten range, and card tricks don't work too well on them. I've basically been relying on two routines--one...

Why wouldn't you be able to? They're all nice guys (except for Dana. He will come to your house and eat you if you bother him.)

Alright. I saw the movie and let me say, it was a celluloid train wreck. It aped every bad teen movie cliche ever shown in any movie. Kevin Spacey is OK as is Lawrence Fishburne, but the rest of the movie was crap. The only lesson you learn is that you should stop while you're ahead. Don't...

Magic might've gotten me into college!

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I feel like maybe magic is starting to become more respected as an art, as long as we treat is as such.

Magic might've gotten me into college!

I got into my first choice college (Bard). They don't require SAT scores, preferring instead to look at other things. I sent them this (http://forums.theory11.com/showthread.php?t=2510) essay and I got in. Coincidence? Perhaps... Conclusion? Colleges may very well be impressed by magic.

    Non-Card Related 1-on-1's!

Alright. I'm confused. I thought "Threefry" had the coins change at the end. "Threefly" is the same as "menage a trois." The thing that's in the 1-on-1 section looks like "Long Gone Silver." Is anyone else confused?

    Non-Card Related 1-on-1's!

It would also be cool if they had a 1-on-1 dealing with showmanship, where they take some simple effect and teach it, but with the main focus on how to present it. Some more ideas: Construction of some simple gimmicks, invisible thread, levitation effects, classic closeup effects, etc.
