    Blackhole Teleportation redo

Josh: My favourite part was at 2:25, when the video was obviously sped up to let your guy approach the white sheet from wherever he was hiding - notice how the camera starts jerking around at about 5 times the regular speed? The camera is very shaky as you noticed, but then suddenly it's on...

    Angle Zero - Your ideas?

Oh that's a really nice idea... Imagine performing Angle Zero, on stage, to soft instrumentals, speaking occasionally over the music to talk about the beauty and the magic in a disappearance.

    Suggestions

What did you perform last year, what magic can you perform/are you into, how long is the performance, where are you performing (stage, separated, walkaround, etc), what are the conditions of your performance (table? Elevated platform?), how many people will be there, and what ideas do you...

    Panic

I'm sure they do, just contact customer support. Someone may well have created another effect for the Panic gimmick, but as far as I can tell, it would be used for the same purpose as in Panic.

    Names

In a very specific instance, I can see a made-up/generic name enhancing patter. That's it. If it serves no purpose in the context of the trick, that is, if it doesn't amaze or entertain, leave it out.

    Tricks for Hecklers

Actually Ray I think the opposite is more prevalent, although your point is well taken: Oh no! It's a heckler! They're so dangerous, they're not even human! RUN!!!

    Magic Is A Puzzle

Card material is a puzzle if and only if you present it as a puzzle. Good magicians take puzzles and present them as mysteries, a huge difference in intent and effect.

    Tricks for Hecklers

Hmm. I sympathise, but at the same time - he doesn't just magically understand how it happens, you know what I mean? When you discover how he discovers how you do it, you'll be a lot closer to the solution.

Looking for tips on showing my magic

I believe Steerpike has a manuscript coming out soon on this subject (I only vaguely remember reading about it). Ken Weber's book Maximum Entertainment, Juan Tamariz's book Five Points of Magic, and Darwin Ortiz's Strong Magic will all help you in this regard also.

    Tricks for Hecklers

I do hope that was a joke. But more interestingly enough, I disagree with DJ's assessment that you will never win over a heckler. I disagree from personal experience, having personally and also seen magician friends won over a heckler and helped them to enjoy magic as well as hint towards proper...

    Magic Is A Puzzle

To be entirely honest with you, I'm not in the mood for a long post. However, that said, I would advise all interested that Ken Weber's book Maximum Entertainment has a few paragraphs on this very subject, magic as a puzzle. Personally, whilst there are many factors, including the mindset of...

    Tivo 2.0

Not bad, you've got the basic moves down, it looks like you just need to get used to the routine more. Nothing's bad, but it's not smooth in a few areas: 0:15 - Replacing the double. Your turnover was very tentative, almost like you were on the verge of losing control for a split second. Your...

Entourage... Gordon Bean and other DVD's

Both Past Midnight and Casanova Concept are generally quite highly regarded by the community, as is XB for flourishing - it's reasonably fair to say you'll be happy with those three. I remember someone else asking about the Van der Put DVD, but I don't think he got an answer...

    Panic

Just take care of the gimmick, and it'll be fine - it's not hard to carry around, though.

Yeah, JSB and Ammar are your two men to look into topits... JSB has his own system and stuff. I don't own any though so I'm sorry I can't be of more help..

    Another way to buy tricks?

Buy a classic book for about $15 at a local bookshop. The Art of Magic, or Buckley, or Hugard. You get lots of good material rather than a $30 trick plus shipping, your pocket saves a bit, and you're busy learning for a long time.

    Tricks for Hecklers

I've utilised an underused trick called lots of practice. And then I've gone out, and performed ACRs, 2CMs, Triumphs, and riskier things like Gambler's Cop-related tricks. If you [a general 'you'] are looking for tricks to beat hecklers, you're kicking the dead horse's twin brother. Just...
