    Which Tricks

What Shanku said - you shouldn't perform Out of This World if you don't have a table, obviously - but it's probably too slow for a party anyway. If you're going walkaround, you want different types of tricks than if you have the stage for half an hour with a table and a camera.

    Good Reference Material

I doubt it - he asked for books, and there aren't any on the site. The general ones people suggest are Royal Road to Card Magic and the Card College series of books. I'm assuming that you're new to magic, so in that case they're the best to start off with. As you'll soon discover, magic is much...

    Shakey...

Breathe, and just do it. Expel all the nervousness you can when you breathe out - and in that moment, before you have time to get all nervous again, just do it, just start, and get into it, because once you do you just have to focus on the magic and on the spectators and you don't have time for...

    Controls

It sounds like some passes are in order, but there are a few others too. Top: Spread Pass/other kind of pass, eg Dribble Pass, Classic Pass.. Other nice moves include: Fan Location, Side Steal.. If the situation allows, a double lift provides many more opportunities for things like switches...

    Kid doing Criss Angel tricks

Put some meat on your bones, wear a shirt, cut your hair, and stop prancing around like a fairy godmother. After that, the videos could look more magical.

    Winter, Erdnase, Ego Changes

My opinions... Erdnase: Moved your left hand a bit much - though this may be personal preference, but it looked a bit jerky. Third one was good in this respect. Also, the reveal was about as unmagical as it could be, too quick. Winter: Now THAT is the sort of reveal I'm talking about. The...

    Houdini & Blaine - Survey

I apologise in advance for the brevity of my answers. I'll be overseas for a few weeks and I have some stuff to do before I go. Does David Blaine pick up from where Houdini left off? -No - whilst magic quintessentially evolves from roots, I feel that they are two different entities in...

    Practice Problems

Het mate - I definitely know what you mean. TeeDee and the others have given some great advice. The only thing I would add to that is make sure you practice against a wall as well so you don't get used to seeing your reflection every time you perform the move (and get used to being helped by the...

    "Spreadable" Triumph?

Medifro has hit the nail on the head. If you're looking for spreadable triumphs, that's one thing - if you need it because of hecklers, then this isn't the part you should be focussing on :) For triumphs, look into Lee Asher's move Continental Divide.

    Choices, Choices

I <3 film It really depends on your style, anyway - I'd never perform stuff like Thread or Wounded anyway. Just pointing out that magic doesn't always have to make sense - it has to if you're putting two packets together to make a steal, or if the trick is patter based - but not always like this.

    Psychological forces

Hey mate. If you're talking about psychological forcing through linguistic and physical suggestion, Derren Brown is the man and should give you some ideas - his DVD set The Devil's Picturebook contains this and a LOT more, and is well worth the asking price, it's a great set. d+M also has some...
