Otherwise, go to conventions, build a name for yourself, meet influential people, don't be afraid to ask for favors, and, most importantly, know what to do and when to stop.
Besides, fame is not the goal of magic. Astonishment is.

In my opinion, that's not our job as magicians. Not to figure it out without purchasing it. There are a lot of books with good ideas that are original - they're just hard to find or few if heavily marketed.

The same principles and ideals that were expressed in the movie are magic. They're what make magic real. Magic is supposed to be a direct smack in the face to make you look away from reality, which is a main idea in the movie. Or, rather, to confront reality and punch it until it bleeds.
