    Magic Over The Phone

Yeah but then they can't see what card is actually reversed ^^ Umm there are a lot of mentalism routines that work over the phone, none of which come to mind... Oh, actually, Nu Sense can be done over the phone, great routine..

    Lit by Dan Hauss Question

Well, you shouldn't really be disappointed about the method. Who cares what the method is? It's an illusion, after all. But I don't think it's released yet.

    The Paper Engine?

IMO - Clipshift is a harder move, but GHP will take longer than Clipshift to get perfect. Simply because there are more mechanics in the GHP - although the Clipshift has the steepest learning curve.

    Double Backed Cards

Search the forums, there have been a huge number of these threads; I searched for it myself a day or two ago mate. Lots of ideas hanging around.

    Why Books?

I don't think it's really about the tricks though, more the concepts and lessons - and my point is simply that many of these are not to be found in DVDs. If someone made a DVD copy of every single Vernon book in DVD format, taught by him and containing all the concepts in the books, by all...

    Card Quality

Try to perform indoors in a cool environment... To a point though you might just have to accept it, unfortunately, though a porper and clean hands will help.

That's a good point James. Personally, I'm heavily influenced by my performing background and hence this ethic, if you will, inspires my performing, and I can't relate, but yes, I can understand why you wouldn't want to practice something you didn't like the method too. Thanks for pointing that...

Yes, but without any offense being intended, that's just being selfish and not performing how you should. Do you perform effects for yourself? Performing magic should always be for other people. Just because you as the magician know the secret, doesn't and shouldn't mean anything. Let me ask...

    My Zoso Change

Hold on, you better get your facts straight. Firstly, do you know anything about flourishing? You do realise that we're talking about magic, yes? Two totally different things. So read the rest of my quote please. If learning from YouTube tutorials is wrong, what's the difference between that...

    Why Books?

Yeah, that's fair enough, makes sense. Hmm. Let me rephrase what I wrote that - I believe the part you're talking about is where I write about the varying definitions of "Great". I believe that you can become a "great" magician in many aspects without the use of books. You can acquire secure...

    Hi! I'm _________

Great post. I think the most important thing to realise about magic is this: Magic is not about you! That's right. Magic does not revolve around you. I've been into acting for a long time, practically all my life. One of the first and most important principles to learn about performing (you...

    The Paper Engine?

Hmm. How hard is it? I've spent about 4 months on my Gravity Half-Pass (One of the videos in my YouTube account features it, though that was a while ago). Do I have the motions down? Definitely, and I can execute it cleanly every time. Is it perfect? No, I suspect I will still need to continue...

Give me money you foolish mortals!

At your age, working professionally might be a problem. Perhaps your best chance might be others' birthday parties... Simply because of age, no matter how good you are (though, normally for good reason), people will turn you down in terms of professional work, obviously restaurants, and so on.

    Magic an art?

Morgician: "The standard performance is not artistic." This is exactly right. Call it what you like. Perhaps this is because of my theatrical roots, but I consider magic an art, I try to treat it like one, and I present it as an elegant one.

    My Zoso Change

Sir Fans is right bro, taking someone else's work is considered disrespectful. For a better summary of why this is so, see this post: http://forums.theory11.com/showthread.php?p=146373#post146373 I would also simply add that it's not yours to take for free, being a marketed product. The...
