    Muscle Reading?

The best sources i know of is Psychophysiological Thought Reading by Banachek and Banacheks PSI series Vol 3. But you said that you just starting to get sucked into mentalism, this is not for you then, this is pretty advanced stuff and you have to be a master at audience management and...

    Close-up on Letterman

How can you say that He heckled him? If you think that is heckling, wait until you run into a real one. To me, someone like him would be a dream spectator because he seemed interested and was asking some hard questions, but you should be prepared for that. Letter man even asks him, "Do i...

5 Sleights for the Rest of Your Life

Pretty funny to read some posts. Just shows that even if they dont conciously knows it they performes a lot of moves because they feel good to them, not because they are the greatest most practical. Seriously, 5 sleights only would be no problem. 1. The pass = Card control to the top and...

Advancing our art! Time to start caring about our audience.

You dont get what i am saying. I never said that it is wrong to just practice difficult and advanced sleight of hand just for your own ammusment, thats totaly fine. I have deep respect for people who spent days and nights practicing passes and center deals and whatnot. What i am talking...

Advancing our art! Time to start caring about our audience.

How are we going to take the art of magic to the next level and how are we going to get magic to be more well respected as an art form by the general public? This is a topic i see all the time and magicians love to have endless discussions about it but i never feel that the discussions gets...

5 Sleights for the Rest of Your Life

This is so true! And i think most magicians would be better of just learning a few sleights REALLY WELL! I just did some "spring cleaning" in my sleight tool box and threw out anything that i dont use on a daily basis and just focused on getting them as good as possible and my magic has...

    Gregory Wilsons backstage pass?

I never did understand that either, because when he controls it to the bottom of the deck he uses a few cover cards. and when to the top he obviousy does not. You dont really need that cover cards, since it obviously works without them to control a card to the top, so why use it to the bottom?

    Cassidy's Fundamentals

Want to brush up on your basics in mentalism? My first advice : Take acting classes or buy lots of books on acting and brush up on your acting skills, mentalism is almost ALL acting, the modus operandi behind mentalism effects are most of the time very simple and even the effects can seem to...

    New Generation of Magicians

I have thought of this a lot latley and i just dont think that its young magicians, its the whole magic community that is falling into this. And i think that there is two reasons for this. 1. People have forgotten what magic really is. It is entertainment and people who go to watch a show...

    Books or DVD's?

Another problem with dvds are.. Some of the greatest magic that we are probably every going to see has already been created and the creators are long gone so they wont produce a dvd anytime soon. So if you limit yourself to one media you will only limit yourself.

    A tribute to Harry Lorayne

Sure you are right. But its hard if your new to it to know where to find the right information and who you should listen to. Also, if someone is inetrested in Harry Loraynes material, he is a active member on the magic cafe and you could ask him about it.

    A tribute to Harry Lorayne

I dont think most young magicians knows about Harry Lorayne, and thats quit sad. But i dont blaim them, most people gets into magic today by finding an online magic shop/community and the way most of them work is to try to sell you the latest magic they have released telling you its the...

    Magic Basics

I think watching David Blaines specialls can be a great lesson. Most magicians today wants to know every move there is and the harder the better just so they can tell other magicians how much they know. We should really focus on learning the basics and really understand them as well as...

    Magic Basics

I dont think that there is a rule that says that these moves are the basic moves that you should learn. It all depends on what you want to do with your magic. I think you should learn how to: Get breaks/hold breaks Control cards Switch cards (Dl, top change) Force cards (Classic...

t11.bulletin - SHINOBI CONTROL by Emran Riaz : Now Available

Ok.. The sleight is GREAT for what it is.. Very easy and deceptive.. BUT Isnt the uses for this pretty limited? I mean how many effects do you actually get to see the card and then loose it in the deck? "Ok i know your card.. Now om going to lose it in the deck!" ??

    Books or DVD's?

I see this question all the time and i think it is stupid. If i want to learn a effect that is in a book i will buy the book and if i find a effect that i want to learn from a dvd i buy the dvd. Also i think that it depends, some books like Card College has some of the clearest...
