First Real People Performances of SMOKE

Perhaps it's different in Canada, but in the US students are not allowed to smoke on school grounds. Definitely not something I would recommend students performing at their school. Props to Casey for having the good judgment and patience to do the effect when he was off school grounds...

    Ladybug thoughts

Where did I say you shouldn't do it often? I think my point was more along the lines of you won't do it often if you understand the effect. It's not a card trick or a rubberband effect that you're going to do casually for everyone you work for during a gig. It's also not something you're going...

First Real People Performances of SMOKE

Sounds like you're really enjoying performing your magic and Smoke. That's awesome. That's one of the things I enjoy about this craft so much--it's so much fun and the people involved in it (magicians) generally are very enthusiastic about it. Look forward to getting my Smoke kit. Should be here...

    Ladybug thoughts

I picked up Ladybug when it first came out and have been performing it for quite some time now. At the right time and at the right moment it's a beautiful effect that can really rock people. Keep in mind though this is not something you're going to be performing often though. It's a silver...

    Luke Jermay - Buyer Beware

That is very disappointing to hear, especially in a field that puts so much emphasis on ethics and anti-piracy in order to make sure the creators are given what they absolutely deserve for their creations. It's not often the situation is reversed though. Whether it's unpaying customers stealing...

    Best Routine of My Life!

You almost can. Whenever I have someone select a card by just naming one instead of randomly selecting a card from a spread--like for Ambitious Card, French Kiss, Paperclipped, etc., where it's OK if the identity of the card is not a secret, I always ask a girl and I always make sure I have the...

    Protected Forum For SMOKE?

Here's a good early example for why a protected forum for Smoke would be a good idea. A lot of Smoke owners, I'm sure, could benefit from being able to have this discussion openly.

    The "Bug" thread

If you go to http://www.theory11.com/tricks/smoke-alan-rorrison.php and you click on where it says "Downloads" nothing happens. BTW, as I haven't said it yet, I'm loving the new site, JB. Nice work, man.

    Protected Forum For SMOKE?

I twelfth this. I just ordered mine, and as Smoke is a utility that seems to have a lot of applications it seems a protected forum where owners of Smoke can share their ideas and build on each other's routines/applications/handlings would be an excellent idea.

The Sheridan Course in Card Manipulation

Blaine actually tried to get Sheridan to consult for his first special, as Sheridan was/is the definitive authority on street magic, but Sheridan declined. As we all know, though, everything worked out just fine for Blaine.

    Smoke Review!

Something I'm curious about is how invisible and practical loading the smoke into your mouth is. If you have a deck of cards in one hand and you're in the middle of a routine and you're talking and you hit a point that you want to produce smoke, how difficult is that to achieve? If you're...

    The "Bug" thread

Not a bug, but a typo I thought I'd pass on. In the description for the Manipulation Deck it says: "Produced and manufactured with in South Africa."

    Finger Ring Magic

I actually do quite a bit of finger ring magic. For close-up Ring Thing (Garrett Thomas) has been on of my go to effects for years. Floating Ring (Yigal Mesika) and Ring Flight (Dave Bonsall's Ring Flight Revolution) are also staples in my close-up repertoire. For stand-up and stage my...
