How do you know when you're an amateur or professional act?

Ok here is my view on what a professional is. A professional is someone who makes money from performing. He does not necessarily have to be a phenomenal sleight of hand artist or even have a high skill level. He just has to make money from it. And I must disagree with the point made saying...

    Trilogy Tricks reactions

Did he just say thats insane? hmm. But i found that there are a lot of simpler tricks that I get better reactions than the ones on the Trilogy. Thats just me but Im sure that some will agree.

    Daniel Garcia in theory11

I am pretty sure that the thought has come to mind to everyone part of T11. There is obviously some reason he isn't part of it right now. Maybe he likes Ellusionist or maybe he is just waiting for his next big trick for T11. Who knows but I am sure that he has thought about it and everyone...

    Major Problem!

Now this is an interesting thread. First off I would not make my show 1.5 hours. That is absurd for a childrens venue. This is what you need to do. Now this is a business agreement you want half and hour and she wants 1.5 hours. In business there is a term known as a comprimise. What you can do...

When do you know you are a professional?

I disagree I think that you need to be making money to be considered a pro. I am not saying that you are not good you can be at pro level but not necessarily pro. Its just like with golf or any other sport. There are many amateurs who play at pro level but they are just not pros because they...

    Jay Sankey's "Inseparable"

That is where I think you are wrong. Yes you are entitled to your own opinion but I think that a lot of Sankey stuff can easily be converted to the "newer magician" style. I mean he does sandhich routines very good card stuff and his coin work is also great, most close-up is the same when you...

    Jay Sankey's "Inseparable"

I disagree also. Not everyone wants to keep things. I do my ACR and after they put their name on it and it gets folded, I give it to them and more times then none they are like "Really, I can have it, are you sure? thanks :)"

    Wounded

The one that costs less is the DVD without the full kit if you look on papercrane productions website they now sell just the DVD for 35 dollars. If you could you should buy it straight from them and with the kit you will not regret it :)

    Magic Help

What wow thats a bad suggestion Sankey has some great material especially his multi trick DVDs. His DVDs are especially good for beginners because of all of the material on them. The Trilogy is good if your into that kind of magic but I think it is a bit WRONG to say not to buy ANY of his...

    Magic Help

I just looked at Sankey's sight and I must admit that sankey's greatest hits look pretty good. But some of the effects are repeats from revolutionary card magic but with better handlings

    Magic Help

If you are getting any sankey effects buy a dvd that has multiple effects, Revolutionary Card Magic is actually VERY good I would probably get that and Paperclipped because paperclipped teaches many great subtleties and numerous effects you can do. But as for WOW i get great reactions from it...

Card Magic Without a Double Lift

Honestly my ACR consists of only one Double lift. Try and refine it so that you don't really need it. I try and use it as little as possible my top change is very good and also be sure not to forget about the glide or a second deal when done right they can even fool magicians.
