I think, if you're that interested, it wouldn't be a hard task at all to find out for yourself what the 'Bale-Diet' consists of. If my assumption is correct, I already knew (I'm a Bale freak), but if not, I'm sure some scouring around google will bring you the desired answer.

Lets not all wait to be spoon-fed (so to speak).

He could just do this for a day and make it look like it was over 4 month. Just film a couple hours of footage and change clothes a bunch of times. Seems like a bunch of bull to me.

It's stated on the site the reason that he's not able to describe in detail what he's doing - Read the copy.

We wouldn't want Daniel to get in trouble with the policemans would we??!!!

re: Creeper's comment, I'm sure he could - but I'm not sure that he'd be interested in that to be honest...

This is D stepping away from magic a little, the diet is real and the proof will be in the footage and photos, you'll see the effect it has on his body as he will be taking a photo of himself half-naked (top half) every day so that there is a solid comparison of effect; this will show the effects of the body, where the footage will show the effects of the mind. It's not a trick, its a serious documentary. Some of D's reasons aren't explained but I'm sure they'll come to light throughout the diary he's keeping.
The diet is named after Christian Bale for The Machinist role, if he advertises his exact diet, others may try it and hold him responsible for the outcome, hence the lack of info. I wouldn't say it's a strict diet as such, but more a lack thereof... all will be revealed in the documentary - some of which will be posted at the site over the next 4-months.

Okay, last time I checked we have freedom of speech, especially when it comes to a freakin diet! I can't tell you about Atkins, I don't want to get arrested!

R3MAN, couldn't you just doctor the photos?

D expects that a magic community such as this will think he's playing tricks, but this has nothing to do with magic, it's a real challenge for him and doctoring photos makes no sense to the challenge, if you think the photos are doctored you'll be happy to see the same effects on film. He's moving away from magic more and more and this is his biggest step in the opposite direction, as he's a magician people are bound to think with their magic caps on, this is a documentary, not a trick show, he's not doing it for you, he's doing it for himself and documenting it for those interested, if you're interested keep watching if you think its a trick then you shouldn't watch; it's about the abilities and affects of the human mind, not about tricking the audience which if he were to do, I'm sure he'd think of something a little more flamboyant than a diet!

I've heard he can change the colour of a sombrero with no cover, no gaffs and no gimmicks.

I'm really intrigued by this, it sounds a bit mean to say this - but I'm really quite excited to see the outcome, even more so by the journey!

I just hope he doesnt just stop magic, as your saying he is taking steps away from magic, I dont want him becoming a stunt man. That would be borning and unoriginal.

I was under the impression that Randall Freeman was the Hunger Artist.

What is it with magicians and Kafka, though? One would think that Borges or Dodgson would be more influential...

why?

Why would he just randomly pretend that he is starving himself? It doesnt make sense to build up a reputation and have that reputation ruined by doing a fake diet. Doctored photos and such just don't seem like something he would do either. Remember, this is the guy who got caught cheating at cards, was beaten to near death, and also blindfolds himself while taking a knife and stabbing it through the gaps of his fingers.

Yeah. He is going to fake it.

Or ruined by a fake colour change.

Which is what I've been trying to convince people of. I always believed Daniel Madison's stuff was genuine, and I believe this too.

I wish the best of luck to Daniel, this doesn't sound the easiest of things...

LMFAO at the last sentences. Oh man your so right but it was just so funny how you put it. Totally agree with you 100 percent. A man who blindfolds himself and nearly stabs his hand, gets kicked out of casinos and then goes back to play more dangerously, then does it for a tv show that was never aired because he got beat up doing it. And people think hes "faking."
But with much fame comes much skepticism and im sure D+M knows this. Even jesus has skeptics

I believe he is going to go through with this, but I just dont really see the point. It seems as if he is trying to get a shock value out of everyone and try to make his popularity up and trying to get noticed more. This will probably do that but I think its really stupid. So in my opinion this is a big waste of time on his part when he could be using this time to create some really amazing effects. And the whole thing with trying to see "where one mind can go" I think he is trying to get popular with the ladys, hahah just kidding
( my mother thinks he is hot.... )

Bummer, I was a little late, haha.

I just saw it on his site, thought of posting it here but, as seen, it has already been posted.

I have not read through the posts, so I do not know if there are skeptics. But here are rhetorical answers.

Its Daniel Madison, not Criss Angel poo.
If Daniel has his mind set on accomplishing this feat of endurance and test of strength and discipline, come on he is going on a diet that does not seem to clue us in whether there will be food though I highly doubt that the food will be everyday consumption solids, I/We should give him all the morale support we can muster up to give him.

Thats what we are arent we?

Theory 11, a community unlike any other community out there? I have seen enough forums out there and I like how Theory 11 keeps it simple smartly.

All the best Daniel Madison.

It sounds so nice to hear that you have a wife and that an outstanding flourisher like himself has the projection of a family man image.

Guster.

Satellite.

This is going to be a mystique motion that might set the flourish movement in a dangerous lethal fashion.
