Hey guys,

So right now I'm currently in love with the idea of misdirection effects. I love the paper ball over head, card under glass, etc. I really want to try and build a routine off of such effects and I really want to learn more of these types of effects so it would be great if someone can point me in the direction of maybe a book or DVD with a collection of misdirection effects. Thanks.

I'm also interested in misdirection and recently started doing some research on it.

I was reading at the end of a book called Expert Card Technique by Jean Hugard and Federick Braue. At the end , they wrote a chapter based on misdirection and patter. You can probably search it online.

You also might want to check Slydini. He is really good at misdirection.
Here is a performance of him doing a card trick:

My personal favorite from Slydini is his coin routine:

Another thing, you might like this video of Slydini doing the ball over the head routine:

Right now, I do not know any DVD's or Books. But probably you could check psychology books because there are some psychology research in misdirection. For instance, they study the behavior of the brain through an fMRI while the volunteer watches a video of a magician performing a magic trick that uses misdirection. It just comes to show how little are brain can focus on things.
