Smoke Damage

I had a house fire a few years back and the only thing of mine that made it through the fire were 3 half dollars. I tried cleaning them the best I could but there is still some black on the edges from the smoke. What could I use to get the rest of the black off of the coins?

u can use a buck 50 to get some new ones...

well, i know to clean coins, leav them in coke, or any kinda soft drink type thing, that might work
or get a hot needle to burn it off, which sounds like fighting fire with fire, but it might work since its just charred

Good suggestions already though... Don't know which one is best.
