As I'm sure you know, the Snap Change is Edward Marlo's. He was well-known for using the sleight not only as a simple color change but also as a full-on transformation. He made business cards turn into matchboxes, etc. I believe there's footage of him changing a playing card into a coin as well. You did it very well.

The Card from Box is Matt Schulien's. Probably the most basic application of the move. I liked how you used the Tenkai rather than Classic Palm. It looked a bit cleaner that way.

Is the box clean at the end or are you left dirty with the coin still inside? If you're left dirty, I'd recommend tweaking a bit more. You can actually do this with a single signed coin if you want. I recommend looking into Richard Sander's work for an alternative to the Vox Box. He shows how to put something inside a box and make it rattle to prove it's legitimately inside. The object vanishes and the box is shown completely empty.

Looks like you use a servante. Good use of traditional modus operandi, but it's unnecessary for the effect.

You talk waaay too fast. Regardless-- you were still very entertaining. You should get some footage of you doing this for actual people. I think the forums would benefit more to see something like that posted. It'd be more refreshing to see a performance outside of a bedroom. You've a lot of energy and that should play well with a group of spectators. You remind me of Jeff Hobson.

Thank you for the EXCELLENT historical background and advice, that is very helpful and I appreciate it.

And to clear something up, the box is totally empty after the effect, there are no duplicate coins used... just for your information .

And also, if you'll notice, the change isn't EXACTLY a snap change... it's at least not the original method. I tweaked it a bit for a cleaner and less angly handling.

The video itself is just for feedback and, once it's more polished, I will take it live and hopefully have a video or two of that in the future.

Please point out where I apparently use a servante... I do not! Promise!

Normaly, I wouldn't say this, but I think the sped up patter, together with your charismatic attention to the audience really bring this together!

Just watched it a second time. You're good to go. The effect's cleaner than I initially thought. Sweet deal. I would still recommend looking into The Richard Sanders Show for a unique way to make the "coin in case" more convincing. Otherwise, it's a decently constructed effect. Not really original, but pretty decently constructed.

I wouldn't call it completely original, of course, just a version of a fantastic effect employing some fantastic sleights. Not too much these days is completely original anyway . I will take a look at The Richard Sanders Show, what you've described sounds like a great convincer.

Do you have David Stone's real secrets of magic videos? You'd profit from them a lot

I'm not by any means a coin magician. I can do a few decent things, sure, but I've spent the najority of my time as a magician on coins.

I have seen the Stone DVDs... some good advice there. I haven't yet started restaurant work but plan on it soon.
