    Retention Vanish Question

That's what I did- I started sleight of hand with spongeballs. They're the building blocks! (err... sponges) Glad to help. If you do what's comfortable to you, it makes your sleight of hand look comfortable- and that's the secret to ALL sleights (and most of magic). Scott.

    Retention Vanish Question

Two things- absolutely it's practical, and if you like how it feels, why wouldn't you use it? Scott.

    What are these moves?

It's really Kainoa Harbottle's FINGERTIP MUSCLE PASS- but Ponta does it in a very lazy-looking way. Some call it the "tiddly-winks" move. Great one coin routine. Scott. Oh yeah- and Gregory Wilson teaches COIN FROM HEAD on his DVDs, Gregory Wilson's IN ACTION, volume 2.

What he said. And welcome! Scott.

    Harada Hold

Hey, no worries. Slide is an awesome vanish, and super recommended given the right situation. But definitely NOT the harada hold. Slide is (IMHO) harder to do for a live audience, and definitely one-on-one only. Scott.

    Harada Hold

Your opinion- but I can vouch for its practicality. It works. Incorrect- it is not taught on those DVDS. And the Harada DVD teaches many effects and ideas, not "just that one move". Scott.

    Scott Baird RUINED 3FLY!

Just wanted to say a few things- I've been away from this site for a long while, but I'm back and hope to contribute more again. Regarding this routine- I have a new ending that I think works (and looks) a lot better and cleaner. I hope to post a new video by the end of this weekend-...

    Coins Across

Some thoughts, ideas, and credits: Sourboarder, it's called the pointing transfer. That is a good option. Keokesilverfang, good ideas there.... stealing from the back clip appears in David Roths work in the coins across plot, as well as in his copper/silver routines. cedwards90- I...

Should I get Bobo's Coin Magic Book?

Yes, yes, get it already! Scott.

    Giacomo Bertini's - Revolutionary Coin

His techniques are first rate, and considered by many to be the toughest coin magic around. The DVD production is lacking, but the magic is incredible... If you can do it. Scott.

    One Coin Routine Ending

    1. A great sucker complete vanish. 2. Coin from head, if you have the height. 3. Coin on spectators shoulder. 4. Coin to spectator jacket pocket. 5. A coin bend. Scott.

    Cartel Coin

Hey CC, If you're going to claim to do spellbound with just one coin, why would you produce a second coin immediately afterwards? Your transpositions at the start are a good idea, but the get-in and get-out were too obvious and telegraphed. Also, your coins across flashed. Change...

If you are adverse to using a shell, the routine can easily be adapted to be done without it. Scott.

    Gimmicked coins

You want to search "SILVER SHIFTER". As to there being no rubber coin trick... You want to search "SILVER SHIFTER", too. Scott.

    Which would be more memorable?

Depends on your audience. Many guys do International Coins Across (Kam, Neighbors, Rubinstein, et al.) Is it more amazing or memorable? That comes from something else... Not the coins. Scott.

    3 1/2 fly

    Don't hate it. Scott.

What are the best coins to use?

If you do any version of VCA or 3FLY, Chris Kenner has strongly recommended using dollars vs. halves. The whole point of the routine is that it's VISIBLE, so the bigger the coin... the better. Scott.

    Money doesn't grow on trees

I perform Bill's routine, and one variation of my own. With a tiny bit of thinking, you can hand ALL the coins out at the end of MDGOT. PM me if you can't think of a way. :) Scott.
