    Doing Magic for Megan Nicole!

Keep on performing and keep on filming. You're out there doing something and you have something to show for it. I'll be honest I didn't watch the video but I thought that you handled Formula's comment well. Thanks for showing character and class. You know what? I'm gonna watch that video now...

    Problem with Marcus Eddie's Stairway

It also helps to concentrate on isolating the fingers. Only the fingers necessary to make the bill jump should be moving. Make sure that when your pinkies are supposed to be moving that your third fingers are not moving as well. It's focus and isolation and practice. Hope that helps. Cheers!

Thanks again Craig! I'm gonna look up some of those suggestions and see what I can work out to fit the situation. I don't think I'm going to get TOD. While the effect is kind of what I'm looking for I just can't bring myself to spend money on a one trick DVD when I have a wealth of books with...

Wow Craig! Thank you very much for sharing those but unfortunately I don't have the time nor resources to do something of that scale and set up in this instance. Be assured that should the opportunity arise where i could perform either effect I will be sending you a message. Danny, thanks for...

Ahoy ding-dongs! So here's the scoop. I'm an actor in Atlanta and I'm currently in a production of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)". There is a part in the play right befor intermission where the other actors run off stage leaving me to awkwardly vamp and improvise for a...

    Always take that chance.

I just wanted to share this. When I go to shows in a small venue where I know the musicians will be hangning around I always bring extra aces for them to sign. The last time did this I got to meet one of my favorite emcees named Eyedea. Turns out he is a big fan of closeup magic and stand-up...

Saturday Night Roundtable - Luis de Matos (posted)

What is the biggest challenge in organizing something like the EMC? How do you think the Internet and technology have changed magic? If you could bring 1 magician back from the dead to speak at EMC who would you pick?

    I Want To Be Like...

I like this post. I agree that copying can be a great pitfall for young magicians or worse not knowing or bothering to learn from the classics. I got back into magic a few years ago. I originally started in middle school with stage/prop magic. The first book I had was "Mark Wilson's Complete...

    Include flourishes to card magic

If including flourishes to your card magic is the route you want to take you can do as Chris said and use flourishes that are false cuts or top packet controls to keep their card to the top. I have a sybilism that is a top packet retention that I sometimes use as a "fancy" cut/shuffle to lose...

    Impromptu Magic?

Pick up "Bent, Touch, Slink" by Daniel Garcia. It used to be available at E. He teaches CMH before Slink which is a great followup. Plus you get two other effects as well.

    Beginner to Card Flourishing

For multi packet cuts I would recommend a thicker stock. Casino cards are great. Since you're in the UK maybe check on Fournier playing cards. Check Kardwell.com. There is a large selection of cards and they are an international company. Once you get better and learn to relax your grip and trust...

    Beginner to Card Flourishing

While flourishing is not my main focus here is what I own and would recommend. "Dangerous" by Daniel Madison has stuff for beginners and experts alike. His style has a great flow to it and alot of his moves are interchangeable between flourishes. Genesis v.1 is for beginners but does not have...

    Sad Experience

Jokes and pranks aside I agree with Rich on this one. Even if they LOVE your magic don't perform for them or even take out cards around them if they're gonna be jerks about it. You are providing entertainment which is a privilege to them. If they can't behave accordingly... no more magic. If...

    Sad Experience

Bullies suck! I'm sure jealousy is the deep seeded reason for this behavior. There are several ways to go with this. You can fight back and punch them but that usually results in you getting hit back which isn't too much fun if they punch hard. You can follow the old saying "if you can't beet...

Need good sources for card flourishing paper

Dan and Dave just put a book on their site called "A Cut Above" about one handed flourishes. Don't forget Brian Tudor and De'vo. And yes Kenner's "Totally out of Control" is where the Sybil cut came from which is the cut D&D site as the multi packet cut that really contributed to their style and...
