    Impromptu Sit Down Magic?

And what's wrong with name dropping? I am just giving you advice given to me by a lot of the top guys. I said Palm reading because it doesn't require acting or anything. It's a very easy thing to get into and to understand. But sense you and everybody else wants to buy a ton of props and things...

    Impromptu Sit Down Magic?

Which is why I suggested Palm reading. Easy to do (once you have an understanding of it.) and totally impromtu. Plus nobody gets tired of having a stranger tell them things about themselves, plus this goes with what Steerpike said as in "Whats in it for me?". With Palm reading you can also help...

    Bill Malone

His stuff is generally easy to learn. He's a pretty damn good performer even tho I find his jokes a bit over done. But the effects are essentially something a Intermediate and maybe a Beginner could learn with enough practice.

    Impromptu Sit Down Magic?

Well they like cards because they are cheap and easy to understand. The other thing is that cards, coin, sponges or anything sleight of hand is pretty easy to practice with at home.

    Impromptu Sit Down Magic?

OK I am going to mention two names that the people here SHOULD look up. Richard Webster and John Riggs aka John Saint Germain. Learn Palm reading and all the items you need will be there for you. Unless you deal with people who don't have hands.. Then you're a freak show. I'd say Cold...

Do you label yourself a magician?

Yes I know Mentalism is a sub catagory of Magic. But the point being is that Mentalism, if done right. Doesn't seem like a trick and people usually don't ask a Mentalist "Where can I learn to do that?" or "How did you do that?" Pure Mentalism often has that connection to the spectator that magic...

    Never been fooled so badly...

The Berglas effect is pretty much simple equivok. Which is explained in Dai Vernons Inner Secrets of Card magic. It's a really old effect that's been around for years.

    Are trade shows worth it?

Well if you can't afford it then don't do it. But from what I have read on the subject a lot of trade show guys make bank. You do HAVE to remember tho that often times you aren't advertising yourself, you're advertising a product that the company or people want you to show off. So you have to...

Do you label yourself a magician?

Actually that is incorrect. Martin Nash was known as Mechanic (well the Charming Cheat). So were a lot of other guys who deal with gambling demo's and cheating. You need to stop accusing people of things. "You're not this if your that. blah blah." Let the guy call himself what he wants...

    Best card prediction out there?

Actually you could use Paul Brooks "Dance at the Door of Deception" effect from Alchemical tools as a Prediction effect. From what I know of the effect is that it is totally clean. You take a borrowed deck, have them shuffle it and then pluck out a single card and memorize it. They then put it...

    Best card prediction out there?

True but I wouldn't suggest that for somebody here. Good Effects based on a Docc Hilford force. But unless you have a reputation as somebody other than a guy who does sleight of hand. It MIGHT not always work. You could do the Open Prediction.

    Suggestions for openers?

Well first off is this a opener for Table Hopping magic or for something else. I'd honestly suggest that if you are performing for friends. You don't really NEED and opener. Openers are generally for people who a set. For friends, you can pretty much go with the flow and perform whatever you...

    Chris Kenner iPhone App

If I was Kenner I'd just say screw them and have it has one of the Jail broken apps or a 3rd party download. I know that there a few Andrew Mayne effects you download through another site.

    Chris Kenner iPhone App

Sometimes Apple is good sometimes they are complete morons. I know they allowed David Blaine's App to be on the market... Yet a few others they didn't. Ironic that they also allowed a game that let you shake a baby to death, and then realized how stupid they were, an then took it off the market.

The Five Lives of Criss Angel on A&E

It's not just about the camera edits it's also about the editing software he uses and how he pretty much steals anybody's material he likes. Also he's pretty bad performer and a pretty lame person at that. As Steerpike would say, "I'd rather listen to Carlos Mencia talk about the day he...

    Criss Angel : The Accident

Neil Patrick Harris did it WAY better on Ellen. In it, his head got cut off and then rather than freak out. Everybody kind of had a O_O look on their face and the stage hand came and took the thing back stage like they were sweeping it under the rug. Neil Patrick harris head chopper

A Suggestion for All Those Wanting to Learn Suggestion.

Suggestion and Equivoque are two different things. You can learn Equivoque in Dai Vernon's Inner Secrets of magic book. The other thing about suggestion that most people seem to forget about is that it takes a lot of confidence to pull off properly. You can't be some kid who stumble around...

Stage Magic... My Thoughts About Why It's Not That Impressive...

And your point being, what? Just because they know it's been rehearsed and planned that they don't enjoy it or think that it's magical? Which is an incredibly flawed way of thinking. People goes to plays all the time. Those are rehearsed and planned. The same is said for the TV shows and movies...
