    Copyrights and Business Cards

Yeah I have seen a few of those. So that's legal then? What I held the ace of spades from a Bicycle deck? That's pretty recognizable, and also has Bicycle written on it.

How to design a business card~ Essay #5 by JDG

Jden: Do you have permission to use the google logo? I don't know anything about these laws (in fact I just posted a thread asking a similar question), but you may want to look into that.

    Copyrights and Business Cards

Hey all, So I've been working on a business card, and I was wondering what I am legally allowed to put on it. I'd like to include a picture of myself holding some cards (or a deck of cards), but I don't know if this is legal. Am I allowed to use a picture of me holding Bicycle cards? What...

I can't figure out my handedness

As far as palming goes, eventually you will need to do it with both hands. Don't worry too much about the palming side of this. I agree with the above. Most teaching aids assume the student is right handed, so it helps to be right handed. You are already holding the deck in your left hand, so...

How do you deal with a cynical jack***....?

The context of the situation will indicate how you should handle it. Sometimes it won't be possible to ignore the person (or at least not beneficial to you). Also, what if the heckler is your client's son, or something like that? In that case, I would try to get the heckler involved. My...

    Quick Question? :)

Expert at the Card Table is available for $10.00 on Amazon. Advice: Don't wear yourself out practicing. Spend time and keep going while it's fun. If it stops being fun, put cards/coins down for a while. Also, stop practicing when you see a noticeable improvement. This is advice from Aaron Fisher.

Question - Joe Porper Card Clip

I have found that, depending on the state of the cards, humidity, etc., that fit in the clip changes. I'm always changing the number of cards I have in there. Sometimes it's just the standard 52, sometimes it 52 plus jokers, sometimes it's even more. Adding or subtracting cards is one way to...

    Various finishes from the USPCC

My guess is that that smooth finish is cheaper in some way (either to apply or to produce). And don't forget about Ellusionist's "Performance Coating."

    Magic in High School (Video)

Yeah man, you got some awesome reactions! The video is great, the editing and everything came together really nicely. I second the above on the pass. It's flashing sometimes. Just a point of improvement. I'm certain none of your spectators saw it. Great job!

    Self Promotion too Goush?

I think it depends on the context. If someone made an account on this forum solely to publicize their own gigs, I wouldn't like that too much. However, for the more respected forum members (this includes you Draven) and elites and such, I think it's fine. If someone from this board happened to...

What's the Deal with Bending the Real?

I'm glad to see the mix of reviews here. I figured people would be split on the issue, and the debate is giving some great info. As I said, I like Jay Sankey, and I have some of his other material. I just wasn't (and still am not) sure about Bending the Real.

What's the Deal with Bending the Real?

Hey all, If you haven't heard, Bending the Real is Jay Sankey's newest DVD. He has called it "outrageous" and "groundbreaking." If you don't know, "bending" is a new phrase that Jay is trying to coin. It's about sharing an experience with the spectator and bending reality, not about showing...

    My Embarrassing Concern.......

First of all, a spelling concern. No one preforms magic. You perform magic. How are you social skills outside of magic? Are you outgoing, funny, etc? Try making conversations with random strangers. Strike up a conversation in an elevator, or compliment someone on their shirt. Also, I recommend...

Practicing can get really really BORING!

As Vernon said, "If you don't like practice, for God's sake try a different hobby." It's certainly hard to not get bored, but you gotta push through. Don't practice everything all at once. Focus on maybe 3 sleights for the day and work only on those. When you make a noticeable improvement, stop...

    Taking it too far ?

Agreed. As crazy as it may be, some people actually AREN'T that into magic. Many a time, the enjoyment wears away after 2-4 tricks and turns into "get this guy with the cards away from me."
