I want a genuine and rational debate

The picture is of Stephen Crowder who is a Canadian/American Comedian/Commentator. Stephen goes on college campuses to have civil discussions with people about controversial topics and urges people to "Change His Mind" on the topic. @010rusty is using a picture of Stephen's "Change my Mind"...

It’s that time of year again.

For a TT: https://www.conjuringarchive.com/list/category/2341 Best effect I ever saw was Magik Balay use a TT to make a full size scissor appear when hanging out at Fantasma.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Classic Pass and Classic Force are overrated?

That. Exactly. I've been at lectures with Shoot and Dani where they have taught the classic force. I've learned so much from those two guys. If you use the right techniques, it is 100%.

Creating custom cards: what do I use

Check this out here: https://www.lybrary.com/how-to-make-your-own-playing-cards-a-11.html It is a bit involved, but would be the DIY method if you only needed a couple of cards. Under "The Basic Process" is a link to an online card designer and you can buy the graphics for the faces. Also...

What are some of the most important techniques taught in Card College(1-4)?

What book to move onto next?

Start with Mnemonica. It will give you the basis you need to understand how to deploy the stack.

Where do you post new sleight of hand moves?

Your best bet is to send the video privately to people who are knowledgeable rather than post it for everyone to see on the forums. The forum moderators are pretty helpful (from what I hear).

A very memorable birthday. Sorry... I couldn't resist.

    Are "Science" Presentations Still Magic?

The best magic is that where the audience lowers it resistance to the impossible. Try this, talk about natural phenomena but give yourself credit for harnessing it. That is half way between a scientific explanation and true magic. Wouldn't it be cool to see a performance by someone who can...

How can I get the most from magic books?

All of the books you have selected are older books that are more difficult to learn from with the exception of Mark Wilson's book and Mnemonica. Mark's book is great because it has good explanations and pictures. The most frequent thing I hear about that book is the material seems "too easy."...

    Best theory books?

I'll second Maximum Entertainment. It is very practical and useful. I'd add Designing Miracles to the list. I like thinking about how to design an effect. Strong Magic is encyclopedic and requires a good performance background (which I know @Antonio Diavolo has) for it to make sense. That...

Funniest things you've heard from people who aren't familiar with cards?

A magician asked me if I liked card tricks. I said no. He then showed me five of them.

@Luis Vega... good to see you. I've never been able to get a good rope routine but I do like Vanni Bossi's Rope Through Neck from Aretaology of Vanni Bossi. Also, Grandmother's Necklace (see Tarbell Volume 1) and Cords of Phantasia (Tarbell Volume 4). I do like them for kids magic. I have a...

Any idea where you would get this? That reminds me when I used to use a drawer box and ball vase as part of a show. I found a way to use them that the adults in the room who had them as kids toys were scratching their heads as to how I did what I did.

Did I ever tell you about when I tended bar while in law school? I've had a spectator come up to me an comment about how I have the "real" version of the linking rings because the one they had as a kid had a slit cut into the rings. Just don't do it. You can't go from cups and balls to mind...

Billiard Ball manipulation: Where to go? What to get?

Mark Wilson's routine is pretty good except for the fact that he points. That is a good routine to start with. Levant's DVDs are AMAZING. It has everything you need. Now, most of the really good stuff is out of print. Jim Steinmeyer's The Magic of Alan Wakeling has an amazing routine...
