    Introducing CardTrickster!

Guys enough! Jesus. Don't scare the poor kid away. He said he was genuine so let it be. Actions speak louder than words. Give him the room and time to show us he means well.

From Next Time to See You Tonight!

Well I guess the better question to ask is: "What do bands and comedians do when they perform at a bring 'em type of event?" Bands have legions of loyal fans who will buy a new CD release before it even drops. Hell Magic companies have legions of loyals who will buy a deck of cards at...

From Next Time to See You Tonight!

So I've been noticing a trend with my friends and family in the past, oh I don't know year or so. I've got quite an impressive social network, I know a lot of people, so when I have shows coming up I hear a lot of lip service. "Oh William, you're great! I am so sorry I missed your last...

    Magic? For what?

Magic in the way that you are asking is a business. Like any other owner operated business it's up to you to decide how successful you want it to be, but it will take a lot of work, blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice if you're going to make it anywhere. Can magic make you rich? Sure. Can you...

Card tricks - Greatest Form of "Magic"?

It's more than likely the same troll we had here a year ago or some. Came in here with some elitist attitude and mucked about on the forums. I suspect it's one of our regular members with a self indulgent need to troll everyone by making a mockery (satire maybe?) of the magic community every...

Card tricks - Greatest Form of "Magic"?

Oh. It's you again. I see troubled waters ahead for you.

    Anyone local to La?

Anyone local to Los Angeles available Dec 2nd to donate a Few hours of their time to do strolling magic for the vets at the VA Hospital in west LA? It's for a good cause. I've done this event the past few years and it really leaves you feeling good about bringing a smile to someone's face...

    Should I Charge a friend?

The catch 22 in show biz is you need credits to get gigs, but you need gigs to get credits. It's annoying. Sometimes doing a free show just to get the experience or the addition to your resume is a healthy thing but Craig has once again hit on all the big important points. That being, and...

How do I go about insuring my hands?

Wow... that didn't take long for the spam bots to hit this thread did it? For once their spam is actually relivant.

How do I go about insuring my hands?

Go to specialty insurance company. You can probably google Specialty Insurance. They provide personal liability insurance for variety performers. I don't know if they do specific body parts, like hands, but they do an excellent job of giving you liability coverage in case something goes wrong.

    Tuesday Night at the Castle...

I'm not quite sure what the nature of this post is. I suppose it's half bragging. Half venting. Mostly trying to work my nerves out ahead of time. Tomorrow night at the Magic Castle (if anyone is local to Hollywood you may want to check it out) I'm sharing the stage with some of magic's...

    There's More To It!

Challenge accepted. I'm going to come up with something new to do with the paddle. It's a great effect and Hot Rods were an early addition to my close up. The first thing that comes to mind is using a cross instead of a rod. Paint it white and on one side cover it with blood. Maybe it's not...

    Help

Patience young padawon. Patience. All things in good times. It's not like they've got an army of employees all sitting around a computer screen waiting on baited breath to see which one of them gets your email first.

Saturday Night Contest - Create a Trailer!

This is actually a pretty awesome event all things considered. Props to the team for putting this one out there. I have NO idea if I'll be able to get something put together and edited in time, but good luck to those who do!

    T11, exceptional service.

Yeah say what you will about magic companies when it comes to customer service Theory11 is consistently one of the best out there. It's that little word "consistently" that I want to make sure gets the attention drawn to it that they so richly deserve.

    Creating FILTER (and other magic)

Regrettably I am not an innovator. I for some reason lack the ability to create original moves or effects. I certainly can take others published material and make it my own via alterations to handling, or patter, but never have I created something original. While I've got some routines I've...

School Talent show in a week

Woah boy did I get to this thread late! Craig's already given you the run down on theater theory for your performance, and as always his advice is gold. I'm not sure what I can say to expand upon what he's done but I'll try none the less. Looking at your line up of effects, and If I were in...

    New Move

Ascetically I don't like the way it looks. There is, as Yra pointed out, an obvious toss of something in there, and I think that kills it for me. Is there a way you can smooth it out more? Maybe that would help it a bit? I also agree that it looks like some kind of pass. Keep up the good...
