    Gypsy Thread

You can also use zippo lighter, or any type of lighter. Zippo lighter can act like a candle because it burns non stop. With regular lighter, you can get an audience member to help out and hold the lighter and light the thread.

A Quick Thought About Fast Improvements

My my, I always admire these people who can make a simple thread and simple idea and complicate the whole thing by writing about something that wasn't even the point of the thread. Simple stuff, no one said that you should choose your friends by their success, but if you want to be successful at...

    This made me OMG.

I never said I can't think of another presentation to cover the method. I am reffering to the actuall presentation used in the video.

    This made me OMG.

The part that if audience hands you the rubberbands, you have no reason to show them again, because they already know that they are normal. And the way that he does it, they have to be shown for the dirty work to be done.

    This made me OMG.

Yeah, this one is pretty easy to figure out. Actually, this was the first one I actually figured out (not that I try to figure any of them out, but I saw this as a challenge presented by the OP :D ). Anyways, you are in trouble if spectator hands you the rubber bands.

    Sleeving DVDs

And, since you are into magic, than sleeving a pocket edition of erdnase book would be the best choice :)

    Tutorial for Gambler vs magician

Actually, that is scripted presentation that comes with a trick, which is published in a book. Can't remember now which book is it, but he did it exactly like in the book, word for word.

    Tonight I Failed Magic

I understand what you are trying to say. But, once again, I never said that I wan't my audience to believe in magic, I want them to suspend their disbelief and basically have NO explanation. If their explanation is "magic" I will not disagree, but if their explanation is that I have "fast hands"...

Why Do People Act Like This?

Ok, now I'm dead serious. Start going to the gym and lift something heavy, for awhile. If you build size, you will build cojones, if you build cojones you will build confidence, if you build confidence, no one is going to mess around with you. So the bottom line is, build up A LOT of muscles...

Why Do People Act Like This?

I would've continued like this: me - Ok, sure I'll show you a trick, comon follow me, don't be scared. him - Where are you taking me? me - Now now, I don't want to spoil a surprise. Oh, we're here! him - Where, there is only this dark closet? *thud* (small pocket steel bar in the back of...

    theory11 + Linking Ring :: Submit Questions

Jason, knowing that you are also a magician, beside being a card mechanic, what are your favorite effects when you perform magic without cards, so let's say coins, ropes, rubberbands, rings etc. And what do you feel is the biggest difference between card tricks and tricks with other objects, why...

    You VS. The Audience

I may be completely off topic here, but I see illogical train of thoughts here. Anna, are you trying to say that when you perform, audience likes some of the tricks, and some of them they don't? Because when you say that you want to perform trick that you like, compared to the ones audience...

    My Repertoire

Those are all pretty much generic performances, and they are really all over the place. No wonder you cannot come up with a routine. Check this thread out http://forums.theory11.com/showthread.php?23354-Which-group-are-you-in , from Morgan B, and you will realize that you are the fourth group of...

    My Repertoire

I think what Steer and R1 are trying to say is, if you give us your presentation of each effect, and how you perform them, we can than help you put them in a nice flowing routine.

    Which group are you in?

Thank you R1, a piece of gold. That is why, if you have a chanse, first start a conversation, and then do the trick. Try not to take out your cards right a way, and go into the routine. First start a conversation, and than do the effect that fits that conversation. If the conversation is about...

    Which group are you in?

Hello ElakPistol, and welcome to the forums :) That is a very nice idea of writing your routines down as how to do them, and than add your own presentation to them. One other thing magicians can do is write down the effect on a peace of paper, what is actually happening during an effect (ie...

    Repertoire Building

Great thread there Mat, real quality read. Now all we need to do is apply it. Now, I would also like to add something to the routining of your magic. Imagine this scenario: Magician approach the group of people, introduce himself, everything is going nicely, than he reaches into his pocket...

    Which group are you in?

Bump! I hate bumping threads, that's why this is only my second bump, but I feel that this one is important. I think there is a lot more to say in this thread, and that we have a lot of new members who could benefit form this thread. I will start the conversation by saying that the 4th group...

    One hand magic?

It's the bone going from the shoulder horisontaly to the sternum (chest bone that carries the ribs). It's in front of the body. Yeah Rene is the best source, sinse he is also doing everything with his left hand.

    Tonight I Failed Magic

Thank you for your reply. I agree with you completely, in fact when I'm watching you I am entertained as hell, and impressed at the same time, even when I show your videos to my friends, you always get WOW reaction from them. However, I want that second part in your post, and you said it nicely...
