    Hardest card trick...

Try "The Penetration of Four Cards Through a Jacket". Though it may not have a riveting name, its creator may be more familiar to you - Guy Hollingworth. The sleights aren't difficult, per se... But often you're doing about six different movements all at the same time, it's absolutely ridiculous.

    Any Card at Any Number

I'll just put out some thoughts on what's been said so far. ACAAN is one of my pet effects, it's my favourite effect (tied with one other), it's the one I've performed most often, it's my opener, and often the only trick I perform. On d+M's Advocate ACAAN - There are two versions given. They're...

    psychological subtleties

Agreed with D ICE R's advice; however, PS1 will indeed be reprinted early next year, AsherF is right. Also, the PS series do not have to be read sequentially, but it wouldn't hurt. Every now and again there's a small reference to something in a previous book.

Card trick you would do for a magician...?

"Most magicians are just laymen with bunny rabbits on their business card." So true. And, for the record hector_cervantes, key card is the secret to probably my strongest impromptu trick.

What does your deck say about you?

Hey man, anything involving breasts, I'm in. xD

What does your deck say about you?

lol! Don't subscribe to that train of thought! Pink Bikes are manly, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise! :P

What does your deck say about you?

Mmm, good point Randomwrath. I've got a new thread topic in mind which will be posted over the next few days sometime along this topic. But for now, I'm content to see that not everyone has missed the point of the thread.

    Need help from forum member

Yeah, he meant Coin Magic lol. But yes... Singularity could well fit that premise. Either that, or, as mentioned above, a deck switch would be easy.

    Backlash 2 from True Astonishment

Yeah, but what's the point? That would completely ruin the effect... Booktest would be an additional, unnecessary and detrimental prop. If you really want to use a different word, create a presentation that allows for a different word, i.e. change the premise of the effect so that it's no...

    Where to start?

Hey, welcome spades894! I think someone's pointed you towards the rules, but basically it's more or less the general netiquette rules around here. As far as experience level, from what I've seen I'd say that we have members with a huge variety of different experiences, but the majority will...

New Release | Drop by Chris Lafferty

Hi all, After my comments in this thread, I was contacted by Brian himself in regards to some of my criticisms. Mr. Rodgers was kind enough to send me a copy of the video free of charge, a generous offer for which I am grateful, to have a look at myself. I in turn replied that I would be happy...

    Finally...

@ Sherlock: VDP is one of those love it but would never use it ones in my mind. On one hand, the idea is brilliant, and it looks amazing, and at least to magicians, it looks insane. On the other, the amount of work you have to do is quite large too from what I hear, and I have to ask of the...

    A new amazing color change.

To add to what's also been said, the twirl of the changed card could be a lot more fluid. I don't mind the change, there are far more awkward ones in existence, but it just doesn't appear to be well practiced enough.

    Books for Cardistry??

Yeah, there are books, although not very many. Probably the foremost and well known as well would be Jerry Cestkowski's The Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes.

    Cardini Change? Ego Change?

That's incorrect on three counts... 1) As stated above, my source for the Cardini Change is Hugard's Card Manipulations, from which I quoted. It is not modified in any way. It amazes me that you still continue your unfounded claims when I have even quoted verbatim from the aforementioned text...

    Cool Trick

Agreed with the whole second phase redundancy thing. The biggest thing is just to watch smoothness - for example, watch how casually you lay down the last ace, and compare to the first three. The latter should be pretty close to the former. Also there was the slightest hint of fumbling at one...
