    Singularity by Alvo Stockman DVD

Sean Fields impromptu invisible deck is very very nice, but for the life of me I cannot remember the name. It looks almost identical to the original one. Ben Earl has some amazing work on the psychology on his version.

Can mentalism be combined with magic?

I forgot to mention that David Blaine can do it from the opposite side. He is a magician that can present mentalism and present it well. But his character is one that is a little off and if he could read minds it would not be a stretch to accept it as possible. Well more in the earlier...

Can mentalism be combined with magic?

I am going to go against what most people think I would say and actually say that magic and mentalism can be combined. Dunninger, Kreskin and Osterlind have all produced a bowl of water on stage. Dunninger's show was primarily a magic show with a mind reading section at the end of it. He did...

Original Routine based off of an original Color Change.

The biggest problem I have is that you claim the routine is original. As others have said the change is not original either.

What gets the best reactions for you?

The biggest thing I can say is maintaining a consistent character. I find that the best reactions occur when the effect becomes real for the spectator. Even more so when they somehow accomplish the desired effect. So a spectator as mind reader has always been both my and my spectators...

    David Stone's - Window

I personally don't think it is too expensive. Not my cup of tea but if I did card through window I would defiantly have this good to go in the car the house everywhere.

Is the Clipshift an overused move?

I agree that it is miss used. I almost only ever use the move as a control. However I am starting to use it as a palm of a card from the centre of the deck.

Effects that can be too strong?

My previous post was not to lessen the impact of the effect, just how much the spectators are willing to invest into the effect. If you look at Control and how Wayne plays it up on the his DVD. He used the whole show for this 'possibility' or trying something dangerous. However if you look...

    Number Prediction Effects?

Marc Spelmann has a nice one on his DVD set. Are you actually trying to predict the lottery winning numbers of a real lottery or the numbers that the audience gives you. The first one could be done with something like postmentalism and the latter should be done via a add a no. pad.

Effects that can be too strong?

There are ways to protect yourself though I preform For Andruzzi a lot and I can count the number of times it was too strong for the audience on one hand (two times). The main problem I feel especially when doing something of this nature is the context in which it is framed more than the effect...

    Bicycle Raiders?

Is it just me or does the jokers look like they just did an Erdanse change to reveal the four of hearts.

Greed - The Left over Bits n Pieces

The biggest problem with Australian money is those those windows. I am not sure what the laws are in your country however in Australia you need to have all the serial numbers on the note in order for it to be valid. Also any shop may refuse payment if they believe it to be fake, likewise you...

Magic is such an expensive hobby...

It is as expensive as you make it out to be. As most of the people on these boards are primarily focused on cards we will use that as the example. For about 20 dollars you could easily pick up Royal Road to Card Magic and Expert Card Technique, those two books could and will give you many...

What 10 books do we need - from 1970 to now?

How can you not have a copy of EATCT next to you. :P It was published in 1902. The original question is too open ended, for cards I would say The Paper Engine is a modern classic. Or for mentalism Max Maven's Colour Series, Fundmentalism, The Artful Mentalism and Psychological Subtleties...

Looking for material on Ring Magic

Or you can look into Ring Leader by Gregory Wilson.

    S.O.F or S.W.C.T.?

Before I personally was very obsessive with sleight of hand. I still use a fair bit of it but now I will much rather use a few sleights that achieve the desired effect.

    Showing the wrong card...

If only they could believe you over your Cookie Cutter performance. But seriously if I think the audience is a little unresponsive I will actually miss a card in a card calling demonstration just them to watch a little closer.

Would you change your performance for Females/Males?

Very much so. I use males for things that I have complete control over. ie Chair Routines etc. However I use females for things that are more ambiguous for example suggestion and cold reading type pieces. This is not the be all and end all but it works very well as a loose guide lines.

    Card Force

Vernon substitute transfer is down right beastly. A multiple top change works wonders as well. It looks dodgy when you have two people select different cards in different ways.

    Monday Magic

Just stick to your core routines. But also have a back up set that you can go to if they have seen it before. It also helps to have a few 'special' tricks like Indecent or Pressure that you can preform for those people who become regulars and will tip you quite nicely. oh and kudos of...
