My Performance Story from Last Night

Here are two pictures from my performance. Spiral illusion and the gum pull. I thought my principal had others but they came out blurry.

    Wireless Mic Systems? Speakers?

Hey guys...I am not new to magic but have recently done a few gigs where my own mic and speaker system would have been better. Where and what do I want to look for that won't cost an arm and a leg? I was thinking some type of wireless mic like singers use that goes to a speaker or something...

My Performance Story from Last Night

Thanks Danny T. I'm sure he'll know who agent 00T is...ha ha. Oh for the comment about me knowing all of these kids pretty well, I chose this girl for FRAUD because she was a new girl and was quiet and shy. Some of the other teachers in the gym were pointing at her from behind the crowd...

My Performance Story from Last Night

Thanks for the compliments guys. I will try to post some pics from the evening once my principal emails them to me at school.

My Performance Story from Last Night

My principal who I work for asked if I would do a Free 25 minute show during our fifth grade Rock-A-Thon last night. I said sure no problem but I have never done stage. I normally just do close up or occasionally some parlor type effects. Audience was 50 fifth graders and 7 adult teachers...

Pictures of me at the restaurant...

Nice pictures man. I love the faces on some of the spectators. Looks like you are doing a heck of a job. Keep it up.

    Why do laymen enjoy magic?

I believe many of us, magicians included, have the desire to be fooled because it allows us to feel like a young child again. A world where your imagination and emotions can take you wherever you want. As a person ages, many times they begin to get "caught up" in the hype of life being about a...

    Cards at School

I'll throw my two cents in since I am both a teacher and a magician. I only allow my 4th grade students to bring in cards on Fridays if they are going to demonstrate a trick for the class with the 10 minutes of down time we have before lunch. Other than that, absolutely not. As for allowing...

Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic

One of my favorite books that I continually look back to for ideas and to refresh my memory of all of the various types of magic. Definitely well worth the 20 bucks I paid for my copy.

    Showing Guardians at Wal-Mart

I have yet to see them in Walmarts in Ohio. I have checked 3 locally and nothing. Unless someone has beet me to them and bought all of them but I didn't even see an empty shelf near the cards that said guardians or anything either.

Best deal on Bicycles at a local store... or so I thought

I buy all of my bricks at Sam's Club and thus far all of them have had an extra deck. 12 decks + 1 Extra. I think the price is like $13.99 or very close to that.

    Close up gigs?

Exactly what everyone else is saying. Do not turn down a single gig. Make it work for you somehow to get your name out there. If it means using a camera and projector to be able to view things on a big screen...so be it. Strolling can be done almost anywhere at any time. Birthday parties are...

    Balloon Swallowing

Definitely impromptu to a certain degree.

    Balloon Swallowing

Balloon Swallowing looks very funny. I know how to do it but I cannot remember which tape or DVD I learned it from. It has been awhile. Not very hard at all and you can really play it up with some good jokes about "gas" and being on a diet.

    Wow - Masuda

Not to start an argument here but the cheaper one I purchased works fine. I would have to see an authentic one side by side with a cheaper one to see if the functioning is that much different or if it is just the quality of the sleeve. If anyone knows the difference feel free to chime in.

    13 Steps - Book Tests

There are many methods to performing book tests...some are more practical than others. Some are easy and others require a bit of skill and memorization on your part. I will not go into any more detail for exposure purposes. If you want people to come on here and tell you how a magician will...

    Wow - Masuda

Do not pay 50 bucks for one. I was able to contact a person who sells them on ebay and a lot of the sellers will even throw in an ungimmicked sleeve as well for free. I think I paid 35 for mine and got an ungimmicked sleeve with it and that was 6 months ago. I think they are even going cheaper...

    Nail Polish?

Coming from an "older" guy..ha ha...I'm 30. I would say that I am against the whole black nail polish thing, but if it fits your street magic style than go ahead. If you ever plan on doing corporate magic or events where the host would like you in a tux or shirt and die....um....it probably...
