    Clutch by OZ Pearlman

Yeah, just as Oz said in the trick video, it is an old idea, revised in a new way. I still think it's brilliant, even though I also learned it from Daryl in the Encyclopedia of Card Sleights. The brilliance of Clutch is to take this old principle in a new direction. Also, the way you pull out...

    XCM meets Drag queen

Okay, as long as you're having fun :-P. And Eddie, don't be so square, it's not as if being a drag queen is a mental illness or something.

Wanted to share with you something

I just came back from a dinner with my mom's friends - a very nice couple. I went to the dinner with some magic items in my bag, as I usually do (mostly decks of cards), but I didn't really have something planned, as they didn't even know I was a magician and it was all very spontaneous. So, to...

    Variation :: Voting Open

I didn't like the patter for the biddle trick... "Now I just happen to see a diamond, so it's a diamond, and now I happen to see a two, so it's a two"... That's not mysterious at all, cause it's clear that you know what the card is and just make some pretty weak excuse. Also, the handling wasn't...

    Mentalism Suitable for Stage?

Practically any book by Theodore Annemann contains lots of brilliant routines for very large audiences. I recommend "Practial Mental Magic". Hope I've helped :-P, not much of a mentalist myself, but I read some of his books and he's really brilliant.

The morals of DVD + Download?

Well yeah, but why are you even thinking about it? Maybe it's not that much of a moral issue, but it is certainly not ethical to profit from somebody else's creation unless they've given you the permission to do it. In other words, you can do it, I think, but it's not very nice. And as...

Why do they include Jokers in a deck of cards?

This is a really great thread... Thanks all of you for sharing this information, it's a very interesting history lesson :-).

    Something Enjoyable

Very enjoyable, indeed. I watched it only once, like you suggested, but I was still able to analyze some of the sleights. But it doesn't matter, because it was all so slick and smooth, and I really enjoyed his enormous talent... I wish I could do half of what he does :-P. Thanks for sharing! :-)

TED : Lennart Green - Close-Up Card Magic

Wow... I've never been so fooled my entire life. How the **** can he do those things?!

    Control - Worth the buy?

Worth every penny. Although, as Steerpike said, it can have quite a frightening effect on people... You might stop their heart as well :P

I need help for a stage show

I can think about some good routines for this new trick... If you catch my drift, nudge nudge, wink wink... Oh, really, I need to get a life.

    Palming DVDs?

In volume 6 of Daryl's The Encyclopedia of Card Sleights there's a whole section about palming. It contains lot's of stuff, and Daryl's teaching is good. The whole series is recommended.

    Angle Zero

Talk a lot more! All along the trick you were just going "Okay so this is the card, umm, ahh, so, umm, check the box!" Look at d+M performing, he's talking about what's he's doing, and that's important, because YOU know what you're going to do, the audience don't. So if you go that fast, they...

I need help for a stage show

Is that a new gimmick or something? Where can I buy it? Imagine the trailer: "The new revolutionary trick from Daniel Garcia - A Hot Looking Girl! Complete with a DVD full of ideas for routines and ways to use your HLG. Coming soon on Ellusionist.com"

    Clutch by Oz Pearlman

Clutch is EXTREMELY easy. Really, you could do Clutch even if only yesterday you started with magic, and it's also very fool proof. The handling is so fair, your audience won't even think about trying to catch you out, you let them shuffle, take the box, it's all as fair as they say in the...

I need help for a stage show

Honestly... Guys who, instead of trying to help, express their personal opinion in a rude way, and without even giving proper arguments for their superficial statements, are lame.

    I need some advice

Okay, first of all, get out there and perform a lot. The only way to gain confidence is to do a lot of performances. Now, don't use lines, they always sound cheesy. It's like pickup lines, they are really cheesy and people can see you practised them in front of the mirror. But really, it's...

    Making a Routine

Not all routines have to be centered around a subject, you can in fact mix all of your favourites tricks with a few climaxes and make a routine. But, keep that in mind, all tricks should have the same feel to them, the same atmosphere around them. For example, you can't do a light, amusing card...

    Magic Sublime

Very well done, you write beautifully. And that's exactly what I think a magician should be, a man to whom magic is like nature - flowing, smooth, and all-encopassing. A magician isn't a man who becomes this magical guy when he goes onstage. A magician is always a magician - onstage, offstage...
