You little stalker!
Hey, i wanna start getting into cups and balls magic and add a routine to my shows. But the subject is so vast, i dunno where to start. So what books or dvds do you recommend for cups and balls. Also, what kind of cups should i use? Do i need to buy really expensive ones? Which cups are better and why?

Thanks!

Theres a few dvd's on cups and balls. There one guy that's really good he makes apples and oranges appear under cups and just when you think its all over he makes like 1000 pennies appear under one.

Ill try have a look for you because i cant remember his name. Search on youtube for cups and balls and if you like it see if they have a dvd on it.

Ill have a look and get back to you

I am very impressed with magicmakers cups and balls. I actually got a free set for ordering $150 worth of stuff I think it was from magictrickstore.com or somewhere. When I received these they ended up being my favorite thing I got.

They are only made of plastic but are chrome covered and look just as good as the expensive ones. Comes with a very good dvd that explains a basic routine. That is really all you need to get you started. From there you can come up with your own stuff.

David Williamson teaches a very nice two cup routine on his DvD "Sleight of Dave", along with a multitude of other effects. It teaches all of the sleights needed in order to make your own routine (not very difficult). Other than that though, you could also look up Micheal Ammar's manuscript which also includes the vernon wand spin.

There is loads of material on the cups and balls, most of the moves are the same, just in a different order or with different finesses. Just pick one and go! :p

As for cups, it really doesn't matter all that much in my opinion... at least not for you're first set. I wouldn't spend hundreds on a very good set only to find that the effect doesn't fit your style after all, or that you are rarely in the position to perform it.

Do a quick search and you can find them for about $27.00 a piece.

He also had a book out by the same name but its OOP. You might be able to find a copy but its quite pricey.

I completely agree. Michael Ammar is a great teacher on the Cups and Balls.

You might wanna get a cups and balls set first....:D

If you have the money, I suggest you pick up a set from rnt2. They're a bit pricy, but it'll save you money by just going straight to the best rather than buying and trying other sets.
