So there is a trick where the magician takes some pins and swallows them and then takes some thread and swallows that, then the magician pulls the thread out of his mouth and all of the needles are attached to the thread. I have seen it performed by many magicians such as penn and teller and i would like to add it to my repertoire but i dont know what the trick is called or where i can purchase it.

I would not recommend doing this if you are under age 18. With that disclaimer, the method is in Tarbell Volume 4.

You also might want to check out Wayne Houchin's "A Single Needle"

This is kind of dangerous, for realsies. Know that going into it.

The Geek Magician's Cookbook by Matthew Parrot (book)

And Confessions of a Needle Swallower by Steve Spill

Are two more sources.

I tease the effect in my promo reel:

What I use is The Needles by Scott Alexander. It's 100% safe if you do it right.

Scott Alexander also has a much safer version with safety pins. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/7643

Bizzaro uses a comb and it's fun http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/2780

Sean Fields has a disgusting version of this as well.

Check out the version in Tarbell, if you are younger than 18 then you might need to grow up a bit before it is even physically possible to do.

Just a warning, you can get hurt doing this. I've had a needle go into my tongue doing this out on the street.

That being said, Wayne Houchins' A Single Needle is a simple version that, in my experience, gets just as good of reactions as doing it with 100 needles. The nice thing is you can have a spectator place the need on your tongue.
