What is different between routine and act ?

That's one explanation I don't usually give, but a goodie!

A routine is just that, when you have choreographed a series of effects or movements and in so, a series of effects that tie to the same basic theme or point of focus. Several routines pulled together create an Act (usually less than 20 minutes in length) and several acts combined give you a show. In addition, when you combine several different kinds of acts and talent (other people) you end up with a Revue show.

So let's say you do a coin matrix . . . that's a routine in that several things happen, there are multiple phases and effects in the course of your presentation but, if you use the cards from the Matrix to move into a series of card bits, you will have created an act.
