Don't get me wrong, I teach my close magician friends magic effects, or moves etc... But I do not expect to have anything back from them, as in a "trade". However, asking around randomly wanting to trade magic effects is really really sad.

We are a community, just get on with it all :) It pushes us further!

I got a PM saying: My reply: I respect my art, trade elsewhere. May I ask why people are trading? Is this respectable in this community? I find it dis-respectful in my opinion.

It can be a single sentence, a paragraph, or several! Can be a book, internet page, forum post... Anything, as long it is related to magic. What have you really learnt from, changed your mind, inspired you, enjoyed, or move you? I want you to post them here.

When I am out and I speak to layman about my magic, generally they have a pack in their house, or behind the bar in a pub, or at a casino... I have been handed a deck of cards before when they know I can perform magic. I generally perform my own card to pocket routine, which generally fools...

Oh yeah, from watching that and knowing what loops are, I thought it was slightly obvious in how he did it. I am sure there are Loop instructions which include this. Hummm, does make it harder than I thought now :)

I will be visiting New York in January, are there any places which are related to magic? Or any places which would be worth going to see, or to do. I don't want to go there and come back, and miss something!

I highly agree with ThrallMind, it was swinging and going up and down to your head movement, which seems like it was swinging on something. You need to move it slowly, and use your hands slowly around the object too. Nice effort though.

There is not a particular path that you should take. In order to become successful, you need to play with what suits you. What sort of magic interests you? What is your target audience? No point learning flourishes if you want to become a children's entertainer. Have a think, if you just want...
