    Double Backers

Most the decks have double backers. Monarchs used to but they are sold to the general public in some capacity and so they have discontinued that. I'm not sure of the reason but I believe it is so they don't have a bunch of lay people walking around with gaffs.

    quick question

It sounds like you have a problem with your cards, not your skill. Try buying a deck of Bicycle playing cards, or even Studs from Walgreens. The finish will do wonders. I'm having a hard time understanding how you can force a card, do a double lift or a shuffle without being able to do a fan...

What's the Worst Magic Soundtrack of All Time?

I LOVE Burt Wonderstone, it may be my favorite magic movie.

What's the Worst Magic Soundtrack of All Time?

I need a good laugh. Post the cheesiest magic music you can to this thread. I'll start: (All of these are good songs but I'd throw up if I heard them all in one show!)

    The professor

The audio is taken from a theory section of one of his DVD sets. This was being passed around the internest a few years ago. I remember it being really great but I can't seem to find it at the moment. It was something like 15 minutes of theory. I want to say that it was from his Revelations box...

    Invisible Chair

I'm pretty sure you are talking about the matrix levitation. They are expensive and hard to find.

Which is Yours and Which is Not?

These are great suggestions. As you can see Theory11 holds a high bar for originality. Try sending the ideas to a knowledgeable magician first.

    Magician Clichés

The top hat and tails was adorned by John Henry Anderson "The Wizard of the North" in 1843. Robert Houdin Wasn't born until 1845. They were contemporaries though. John was one of the first to bring magic to a reputable theater. His act consisted of many of the certifiable classics including the...

    Thoughtless ACAAN

I self published a pamphlet of mine on Amazon self publishing. At one point you could publish books on the Marketplace here on Theory11 I don't believe you can anymore. Of course you can try publishing with Penguin Magic or Murphy's Magic but there are difficulties with any route you take.

    Rick Lax Binary Code 2

Nope it is seperate, and the over all idea is different. The illusion of memorizing the cards is the same though.

    Non-educational magic books

To reiterate, Steinmeyer's books are great. My least favorite is on Charles Fort, it's magical but pretty dry. Hiding the Elephant, Glorius Deception, Alan Wakeling, and his Howard Thurston books are all great. David Blaine's book is alright, I loved Derren Browns book. Actually all of his...

    Rick Lax Binary Code 2

Rick Lax has created a self working trick that does what other self working effects do not. It is interesting, commercial and doesn’t require any preparation. I have tried it out in the real world and it gets great reactions. Tearing the cards makes the difference. That action takes it from an...

    Card case/box

Porper card clip. That's really the only one you need. Joe Porper makes them all by hand. This is what they look like. Jamie Grant has a unique clip that doubles as a deck stand if you want to check it out as well. I think it is called the card vault.

Anyone know anything about ShinSplint 2.0?

I learned Shin Splint from Shin Lim's At the Table lecture. I didn't have any issues with the changes. The setup between phases is funky but doable. There are a few other twisting the aces routines that use the setup method. At least in this routine it is covered a little.

Magic Civil War: Calen Morelli vs. Rick Lax vs. Ellusionist?

I think we've talked this out. I'm not sure that this thread is helping much. In light of the unavailable video I'm going to lock the thread for now.

    Finger Ring Magic

Greg Wilson likes to wear his ring on his thumb for sizing. He has some great ring magic, I want to say on his Off the Cuff and On the Spot DVD's. Jay Sankey has the Mecuring. Dan Hauss has the "Growing Ring". If you like flourishes check out De'vo's Ring flourishes on Ellusionist. Ninja Ring...
